Nintendo Wii E3 2010 Report, New Zelda Video Game and More!

Nintendo Wii E3 2010 Report, New Zelda Video Game and More! 200°
246w ago - Below is a report from the Nintendo Wii E3 2010 press conference, which unfortunately debunked the rumor of a Wii HiFi HD console announcement.

The first game "Zelda: Skyward Sword" was shown with huge technical difficulties (video below). The wireless controllers were not being received by the Wii and the presentation was cut a bit shorter than planned.

Then a new Mario game was announced called "Mario Sports Mix" which features Mario, and all of the characters we associate with him, playing games like basketball, Hockey, Dodgeball, and volleyball.

Then Nintendo introduced Wii party. Wii party allows families to play each other using their own personal Miis created by them.

After that a game by Ubisoft called "Just Dance 2" made its announced comeback to the Wii. Then a game which no one had heard about since E3 2009 was announced with gameplay and that is "Golden Sun Dark Dawn".

A huge announcement came when Nintendo showed an actual group of gamers being asked about a game which had not been mentioned yet.

That game, after the group said it invented multiplayer was revealed and it is "James Bond Goldeneye". It will be released this holiday season...

Nintendo: Twilight Princess is 'Starting Point' for New Zelda on Wii

Nintendo: Twilight Princess is 'Starting Point' for New Zelda on Wii 200°
273w ago - Today, following an interview with director Eiji Aonuma, IGN (linked above) is reporting some new details on the next Zelda game for the Nintendo Wii.

To quote: "Since then, the publisher has dropped a few more details, first confirming that Link's swordplay would be enhanced by Wii MotionPlus and also revealing that it plans to alter the traditional "flow" of the series.

Dev: With Twilight Princess, we challenged ourself to create the most vast and realistic world the series had ever seen, but we don't feel that we were able to fully complete this objective. With that as a starting point for our improvements to the series in the future, we are of course working on a new game for Wii.

Might the forthcoming Zelda title, which is purportedly set to be unveiled at next year's E3, be the Wii equivalent of Majora's Mask?

Dev: For any game to be remembered for a long time, just like Ocarina of Time was, the game must give the strong impression that it has set a new starting point for future sequels to build upon. We are working to further improve upon the experiences found in Twilight Princess so that our future games can realize these innovations."

Miyamoto Says Next Zelda Will Use Wii MotionPlus

Miyamoto Says Next Zelda Will Use Wii MotionPlus 50°
300w ago - Shigeru Miyamoto, the resident Nintendo genius, was not on stage for Nintendo's E3 presentation but he made sure to make his rounds with the gaming press in his annual E3 Developers Round Table.

To quote: We hear him talk about Super Mario Galaxy 2 having close to 99% new content; watch him diplomatically field questions about the Kind Code patent; listen to him promote the qualities of Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii MotionPlus, and Wii Vitality Sensor; and apologize for the absence of an expected new Zelda for Wii at the presentation.

Oh, and about that Wii Zelda. The famed creative guru says that it will use Wii MotionPlus as he showed the press people the first bit of artwork for the upcoming title (no photographs allowed). Artwork showed a Twilight Princess-era Link standing back-to-back with a mysterious young girl surrounded in a field of sky blue.

Miyamoto said that it has not been decided if the new Zelda will use Wii MotionPlus exclusively (joking that it depended on the success of the peripheral's package, Wii Sports Resort) while also saying that the artwork revealed major themes of the new game (due in 2010 by Nintendo's "estimates").
