May 24, 2010 // 9:14 pm - SCEA Associate Product Marketing Manager Chuck Lacson has spotlighted 6 reasons today why ModNation Racers for PS3 and PSP rocks.

To quote: I'm uber-stoked that everyone will finally get their hands on ModNation Racers TOMORROW on both PS3 and PSP!

Actually playing the final version of the game you've been working on for so many months is probably the best part of being in this incredible industry.

That's how I spent my weekend and that's when I was reminded of why I love playing this game (and why...

EA Podcast: Why More People Played Dead Space than Bought It 300°
July 6, 2009 // 10:02 pm - EA's Glen Schofield, studio manager for the company's Dead Space team at Visceral Games, appeared on the second episode of EA's official podcast to talk games, mention that Dead Space had co-op during some of its development cycle and explain the company's take on Dead Space's sales.

To quote: We looked at how many we sold. We also looked at – we didn't have online which is one of the big features that you need to have to kind of keep it in the house a little bit...

Rant: Why Do Developers Screw-up PlayStation 3 Games? 400°
June 12, 2009 // 11:00 pm - We've all heard the excuse before; "The PS3 is too difficult to develop for." One thing Sony's Playstation 3 is well-known for is its powerful hardware, which boasts (among other things) a Blu-ray disc format and a Cell Microprocessor as its CPU.

For those of you that don't know what all that means, all you need to know is that it is very, very powerful.

But while that's all well and good, there's also a downside to it. The PS3 is complex - more complex than every other console currently on the market.

To quote: Some developing companies have had problems...

Valve Explains Why They Avoid the 'Too Technical' PS3 Console 550°
June 11, 2009 // 3:46 pm - How come we've yet to see Valve develop something for the PS3? Being one of the better game developers out there, you'd think they'd be one of the first to get in line tweaking with the PS3's hardware.

Apparently, that's not the case as they seem to find it too complicated.

Tom Leonard, Valve Game Designer, had this to say when asked about this very issue over at E3:

"The PC and the 360 are just more straightforward. We can focus on what we want to do, which is make game experiences, instead of sweating bullets over obscure architectural decisions...

Why Left 4 Dead Fans Should Calm Down About Left 4 Dead 2 100°
June 7, 2009 // 9:57 pm - It's pretty clear that a lot of Left 4 Dead fans are very upset about Valve's surprise reveal during E3 2009 about Left 4 Dead 2.

The game's new official message boards are full of comments saying basically, "Valve's releasing a sequel too quickly for us; this should be a free content update for the original game."

To quote: As Valve's Doug Lombardi told us during our play time with a build of the game this past week, "This is something new for us." By "new" he meant that this time Valve is...

Why a New XBox Console is Coming Sooner Than Later 350°
April 30, 2009 // 11:06 pm - I predict the new Xbox, whatever it may be called, will be announced before years end and furthermore will be available sometime (probably second-half) in 2010. Here is why...

Phooey To Those Who Say It's To Early For A New Release
Being so dominant in the computer world for so long now, Microsoft already has deep-seeded roots in a culture where people are willing to spend anywhere from $150 to $450 on a new graphics card, just one singular component of a PC.

As such, I am thinking the way they see it, why would people not be willing to upgrade to an entirely...

Konami's Negligible 360 Support: Why MGS5 Will Stay on PS3 200°
March 29, 2009 // 1:53 pm - If Valve is the anti-PS3, then meet the slightly less but ultimately anti-360 developer. Konami has been making the rounds lately with their teasing announcement of the next Metal Gear Solid.

The rumors have already begun flying on whether the game will focus solely on Raiden or if it will be set between the main games of the series. In short, it's doing just what every MGS game has done before and it hasn't even been revealed yet.

Though it wasn't blatantly spelled out, it's most definite that the company will continue providing their most A-list titles to consoles...

Why a PS3 Price Cut is Not Likely to Change a Thing for Sony 550°
March 18, 2009 // 11:20 pm - Most likely the PS3 will get a price cut very soon. It is the common sense thing to do if you are Sony.

So the question really shouldn't be when? Rather it should be, will the price cut even matter?

For three years now the PS3 has been unable to sustain any momentum that it has gathered from time to time. While there are many contributing factors for Sony's tough outing this generation, the one main factor everyone agrees on is price.

So here we...
