Sony Reveals 9 Ways to Dictate Like a Pro in Tropico 5 on PS4

Sony Reveals 9 Ways to Dictate Like a Pro in Tropico 5 on PS4 100°
3w ago - Sony Producer Timo Thomas revealed 9 ways to dictate like a pro today in Tropico 5 on PS4, as follows:

Hola, PlayStation fans! Today we're excited to talk to you about infamous city-builder and political sim Tropico 5, which arrives on new-generation consoles later this year exclusively on PS4.

This is actually the first time Tropico has ever been released on a PlayStation platform before, and to welcome the PlayStation community to Tropico 5, we'd like to introduce you to the world of Tropico and its lovable dictator El Presidente.

Our beloved leader El Prez is aware that some people may not have had the pleasure of ruling over their own island republic as an iron-fisted dictator before, so he's humbly asked us (ordered us) to prepare a list of 9 useful tips on how to rule in Tropico 5. It's up to you to decide whether you want to be a gruesome tyrant or leader of social justice, but staying in power is no easy feat. So have a read of the list below and ask us any questions about the game in the comments!

1.) Build Your Dream Metropolis

As Presidente, it's up to you to develop the island as you see fit, but sometimes you need to rein in your crazier ambitions. Ask yourself: is an economy based on pineapple farms sustainable? Cheap housing may sound cost-effective,...

Video: The Tomorrow Children: 3 Ways to Create Striking PS4 Visuals 400°
18w ago - Q-Games Ltd President and Executive Producer Dylan Cuthbert posted up a video today introducing 3 ways to create striking PS4 visuals in The Tomorrow Children on PlayStation 4.

Below are the details, to quote: Hi everyone, before I dig into today's blog post, I wanted to invite you to tune in to tonight's Extra Life livestream at 5:00 pm PT, where I will personally guide fans through a live demo of our studio's upcoming open-world game - The Tomorrow Children.

We're really excited to participate in the Extra Life program and hope as many of you as possible can stop by to check out the first look at gameplay footage from The Tomorrow Children!

• Go here at 5:00 pm PT tonight to watch live.

But for right now, I'm going to talk a little about the tech behind The Tomorrow Children. Hopefully you've all seen the trailer and are wondering how the glory we managed to get that crazy surreal look we have.

When the project started we had a meeting with Mark Cerny and he said "I want Q-Games to do something that's a little... outside the box." So I took that to heart and decided to use the PS4's awesome compute power to drive three things: Cinematography, Lighting, and Geometry.

Cinematography

So I...

Assault Android Cactus on PS4 and PS Vita: 8 Ways to Play

Assault Android Cactus on PS4 and PS Vita: 8 Ways to Play 50°
29w ago - Witch Beam Artist / Programmer Tim Dawson announced today that Assault Android Cactus is hitting PS4 and PS Vita with 8 ways to play!

To quote: Hello! I'm Tim, the coder and art guy of Witch Beam, a three-person team making Assault Android Cactus which is heading to PS4 and PS Vita later this year.

Assault Android Cactus is an intense arena shooter in the arcade tradition where each character has an unlimited primary weapon that powers up over the course of the level and a sub weapon that works on a cool down.

Where a shmup might have different ships, we have different androids, and we had a lot of fun designing our eight characters and drawing on our favorite arcade influences to give them each their own feel and keep them fun to play.

Cactus, our games namesake, sports the classic vulcan style machine gun. Fast, precise, and - once it's leveled up - able to tear apart pretty much anything. Her secondary weapon is the flamethrower, a short range, high-damage weapon that burns through packs of enemies and puts big dents in boss health bars.

Holly's Seeker uses homing bullets - they lack punch but are easy to use and backed up by a slow traveling but destructive Cannonball to smash through enemy lines. Lemon uses the classic Spreadshot, when upgraded it has the...

More Ways to Play Knack: PS4 Co-op Mode, Mobile App Detailed

More Ways to Play Knack: PS4 Co-op Mode, Mobile App Detailed 100°
69w ago - Sony Associate Project Manager Nick Accordino shared details today on more ways to play Knack, including a PS4 co-op mode and mobile application as outlined below.

To quote: Hello, everyone. We're just a little over a week away from the launch of PS4, and I can't wait for everyone to finally get their hands on Knack.

If you're looking for a taste of something different, something a little more old-school, Knack is the perfect PS4 game for you. With Knack, not only are we taking gamers back to the days of classic games like Crash Bandicoot, we're also introducing some new and unique ways to experience the game.

We have a unique two-player coop mode that puts a fun twist on traditional co-op games and is a great reason to pick up an extra DualShock 4 controller. If you own a PS Vita, there's of course Remote Play, which can even work in conjunction with our two-player co-op.

We have a fun social connectivity feature that lets you unlock collectibles faster through your network of PSN friends, and finally, we have a brand new standalone mobile game app called Knack's Quest. I'm here to talk about all of these today.

Knack's co-op is a little different from some cooperative games you may have played. From the very beginning, Knack was meant to be both a challenging...

Video: Splinter Cell Blacklist on PS3: Three Ways to Play Detailed

Video: Splinter Cell Blacklist on PS3: Three Ways to Play Detailed 50°
84w ago - Community Developer Zack Cooper shared a video today detailing three ways to play Splinter Cell Blacklist on PS3 for fans below.

To quote: As you can see in the video below, we've got three very distinct playstyles in Splinter Cell Blacklist. The Ghost is someone who likes to get in and out of a mission, leaving absolutely no trace of their presence.

You can either avoid contact with the enemy altogether (undisturbed hostiles give you the greatest challenge and reward), or knock them out. There are plenty of gadgets tailor-made for Ghosts; the proximity shocker is one of my favorites, especially when I feel like messing around with the AI.

I'll lay down mines, fire off a sticky cam for reconnaissance and/or distraction (you can play sounds from the sticky cam to serve as a decoy), and then lure the baddies into my playground.

There's something completely satisfying about knocking out a terrorist, leaving his body out in the open, then watching one of his buddies take notice and race over to investigate... only to get zapped. I'll clean up my mess after that, and hide those guys in the comfort of the darkness.

The Ghost is always non-lethal, though. That's imperative to the playstyle. If you want to use your karambit (the Indonesian knife that Sam uses in Blacklist),...
