6w ago - Koei Tecmo Europe Community Manager Chin Soon Sun announced that Atelier Ayesha Plus officially arrives on PS Vita today complete with a PlayStation Vita video trailer below.

To quote: Hello PS Vita players! We're happy to announce that today we are launching Atelier Ayesha Plus ~The Alchemist of Dusk~ on PS Vita via PlayStation Store.

If you're not familiar with the Atelier game series, it's a RPG developed by one of our development teams, GUST, in Japan.

Unlike the previous titles in the Atelier series, the setting for Atelier Ayesha Plus - the Dusk World - is on the verge of ruin, the glory of their civilization based on alchemy all but lost. Additionally, Hidari's role as illustrator serves to further deepen the presentation of the Dusk World.

Atelier Ayesha Plus tells the tale of a girl, Ayesha Altugle, who after the death of her grandfather and the disappearance of her younger sister Nio, now lives alone blending healing cures to sell in her workshop. Upon a vision of Nio appearing near her empty grave, Ayesha is convinced Nio is still alive and begins her search to save her sister.

This enhanced PS Vita version will bring new features including dual audio (English and Japanese...

Tecmo Koei President Says XBox 360 is Doing Better in Japan

50°
295w ago - Kenji Matsubara, global President and CEO of Tecmo Koei Holdings, has said that despite a difficult start in Japan, Microsoft is doing better with Xbox 360 than it did with the original console.

To quote: "Xbox 360 as a business is doing better than the old Xbox," he told Kikizo.

"They have a good opportunity for growth, but of course Sony is a Japanese company and Microsoft is known as a business software company, so brand image is one point. But Microsoft is doing well, especially considering how difficult it is these days.

"I think they have good growth potential for the future depending on the titles. We have a close relationship with Microsoft so I hope we can be a part of that."

Tecmo Circumvents Exclusive Deal with Microsoft for XBox 360

250°
310w ago - In the world of video gaming exclusives mean life or death to some fanboys out there. The issue wasn't a hot topic last generation, but for some reason it has set the Internet a blaze this generation.

Many believe that once an exclusive is signed it is an iron-clad deal, but Tecmo proves that there are loop-holes to getting around these exclusive contracts.

I remember the bittersweet rivalry of the Sega Genesis and the SNES back in the day. Gamers argued that the Genesis was better due to graphics, while others argued that the SNES had better games. In the end better games did prove to be the deciding factor for the SNES.

Today, console manufacturer's are foaming at the mouth fighting over console exclusives. Sony has probably lost the most "potential" exclusive deals because of the company's strict no-payment for exclusive policy.

The company lost the opportunity to tie up some of the biggest titles such as Grand Theft Auto IV and Final Fantasy XIII. Read the previous coverage on how Sony turned down an exclusive deal from Take-Two here.

However, it seems that the once thought iron-clad exclusive contract with Microsoft is not...

Tecmo to Announce New Game March 24th, Likely PS3 Exclusive

100°
311w ago - Today Tecmo has announced they will debut a new game on Tuesday March 24th by sending out e-mails to the press to attend an event on that day.

The game will be shown at the invite-only event taking place at a PlayStation Store in San Francisco over in the US at 3PM. That is a seven hour difference between GMT, so people in UK should expect the reveal at 10PM that night.

Apparently, the announcement will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A with the producer/director of the game, so expect a few articles to appear on certain sites, particularly the US based ones, detailing the game soon after the showing.

No hint as to what the game will be as of yet, but with the reveal taking place in a PlayStation Store you can expect it to be a Sony platform exclusive.
