Steam Banning MW2 CD Keys Bought From Illegitimate Sellers 350°
288w ago - Apparently IV/Activision has Steam de-registering Keys activated in regions where they weren't sold originally.

This is affecting persons who've bought their keys from online Key stores the most.

To quote from the site, linked above:

"If you've bought a MW2 CD key lately from a so called 'online cd key store', such as G2Play and CdKeyHouse, you'll probably end up getting your game revoked from your Steam account soon.

According to official Valve employees this is due to the fact you've bought the key from an "illegitimate seller"."

Left 4 Dead 2 PC Demo is Now Available on Steam 100°
291w ago - Valve today announced the availability of the Left 4 Dead 2 demo to all PC gamers via Steam.

The Left 4 Dead 2 demo features gameplay taken from "The Parish" campaign, set in the New Orleans French Quarter.

The demo weighs in at 3.64 GB and is now available for all on Steam.

Playable by 1 to 4 players over local or Internet connections, the demo features all the new boss infected zombies and many of the new melee weapons included in the full product.

Has Microsoft's XBox 360 Console Run Out of Technical Steam? 550°
319w ago - Whenever the issue of the Xbox 360 running out of technical steam is risen, you always get the same answer, "there's still more it can do", no offence but this excuse is getting old pretty quickly.

Is there really any thing left in the Xbox 360, hardware wise? I really don't think so.

It's been 3 years and still there are less than a handful of games that have pushed the visual boat that much farther, notably... Gears of War and Gears of War 2, what else has really brought outstanding graphics to the table? Halo 3?

Valve Announces Premium DLC for PC Gamers on Steam 200°
324w ago - Valve announced today that their digital gaming service Steam will now support in-game downloadable content for its library of games. Yes, PC gamers, now you too can be charged for another hour or two of gameplay.

The first game utilizing this new Steam feature is Twisted Pixel's The Maw. The game now has two levels entitled "Brute Force" and "River Redirect" available for $1.25 apiece.

Dutch Authorities Arrest Outspoken Steam Hacker MaddoxX 50°
361w ago - According to a report from German newspaper NRC Handelsblad, Dutch authorities arrested the 20-year old computer hacker Jasper Houben last Tuesday evening.

Known in the underground community under his online pseudonym of "MaddoxX," Houben ran an anti-Valve forum known as No-Steam, as well as the piracy group "EMPORiO," which specialized in releasing cracked copies of Valve's Steam titles, including Counter-Strike and Half-Life 2.
