Here are a couple of complementary tutorials that I recently made. I don't really know if they can participate on the contest, since they are video-tutorials, but I think the PS3 community is not really well aware of the latest advances in the scene regarding OFW thanks to Kakaroto's ps3xport.

These tutorials aim to expose the potential of that release, explaining how to play PSP Minis/Remasters on a OFW PS3.

The first video shows how to obtain some necessary information, while the second one covers ISO conversion and installation.

Frima Studio Reveals 5 Tips to Speedrun Chariot on PlayStation 4

1d ago - Frima Studio's Laurent Mercure shared 5 PS4 tips today to Speedrun Chariot on PlayStation 4 with details below.

To quote: Hello everyone! I'm Laurent Mercure, community manager at Frima. Last fall, we launched our latest game, Chariot, on PS4, and we were thrilled to have the PlayStation community embrace it!

With Chariot, we wanted to make a game that was accessible and that players of different skill levels could play together and have a good time. My colleague Phil explained his vision in a previous post: Chariot, Bringing Gamers Together.

However, being seasoned gamers ourselves, we always envisioned a more hardcore side for Chariot as well. We wanted to give skilled players a worthy challenge to tackle. This is the idea that spawned the Speedrun mode for each level.

Speedrunning levels in Chariot and scoring the gold medal isn't easy. Even the timers in level 1-1 are pretty unforgiving. We know that a lot of dedicated PlayStation players are Trophy hunters, so I'm here to teach you a few tricks to help you get the Greased Lightning trophy (Getting gold in all 25 levels).

Axiom Verge: The Secrets of Speedrun Mode on PS4 and PS Vita

700°
5w ago - Thomas Happ Games LLC Programmer / Artist / Designer / Composer Tom Happ shared the secrets of Speedrun Mode today in Axiom Verge on PS4 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: Hey everyone - this is Tom Happ, the sole developer of Axiom Verge. I did all of the art, music, design, animation, and programming as a labor of love.

After 5 years of working on Axiom Verge in isolation, I'm finally getting close to launch. I can't wait for everyone to get their hands on it. I'm pretty proud of what I've been able to make as a team of 1, but the ultimate judges will be you, the players.

One of the newest features I added was a Speedrun Mode. For years I've loved watching ridiculously skilled players 100%-ing great games like Super Metroid, Shovel Knight, Guacamelee, and more. The recent AGDQ festival also made me think deeply about creating features specifically for the speedrunning community.

To understand how Speedrun Mode works, it's important to understand a little about Axiom Verge. In Axiom Verge, you play as Trace, a scientist who wakes up after a lab accident in a strange, alien world. Similar to classic games like Super Metroid, Master Blaster, Bionic Commando, and Contra, the game involves a mix of exploration, new weapons and powerups, new enemies to battle and epic boss fights....

Kalio Announces Ring Run Circus Hits PS Vita on November 11th

16w ago - Kalio's Ciro Mondueri announced today that Ring Run Circus hits PS Vita on November 11th, 2014 with details below.

To quote: Hello, readers! My name is Ciro and I'm part of Kalio, a small independent studio in Uruguay.

We are thrilled to announce that our latest game Ring Run Circus will be launching on PS Vita and Playstation TV on November 11th, 2014. The launch price will be $9.99, with PS Plus members receiving a 20% off discount for a limited time.

Ring Run Circus is a unique sort of game which we like to call a "ring-former": an action-puzzle game set in a dream world of connected rings. Players take the role of three uniquely talented acrobats - Nina, Ned, and Nelson - and help them navigate this strange world full of hazards, circus animals, and tricky puzzles.

The goal of each level is to grab the colorful key and get to the exit door as quickly as possible leaving no stars behind. The controls are quite simple; one button to ride on the outside or inside of the rings, and another one to activate each acrobat's special ability: Nina jumps, Ned punches, and Nelson triggers mechanisms to move rings around.

Don't let the seemingly simple controls deceive you, though. There is enough challenge waiting, not only for your skill - proper timing to change...

18w ago - Following up on the PS Vita Native WebKit Exploit by Davee and CodeLion from a few days ago, today PlayStation 4 developers nas and proxima have announced that the Webkit Exploit is confirmed to run on PlayStation 4 Firmware 1.76 with details below.

To quote: PS4 1.76 Webkit Exploit

Developers nas and proxima have extended the recently released Vita Webkit exploit, and made it compatible with the latest PS4 firmware, firwmare 1.76. (Update: Proxima actually clarified that although this is the same webkit exploit, it was developed in parallel to the Vita exploit, and not "based" on it)

Their proof of concept code provides several samples, including a module dumper and some tool to create more advanced ROP code.

I am not close to my PS4 right now and cannot confirm if the Proof of Concept actually works, but the code looks perfectly legit, the devs behind this have a great track of record, and it should be a matter...
