Sony PlayStation Now Subscription Program: All The PS Now Details

8w ago - Sony Director of Marketing Peter Jamshidi revealed all the details of their new PlayStation Now subscription program today as outlined below!

To quote: You've been able to rent games through PlayStation Now for several months now, but many of you have asked - what about a subscription?

I'm pleased to announce that starting January 13th, we'll launch a subscription service for PlayStation Now that will provide instant and unlimited access to a catalog of more than 100 PS3 games. And since you're using PlayStation Now, you can enjoy the freedom to quickly discover and play a wide range of full games without downloads, installs, or patches (not to mention trips to the store).

The subscription service will be available first on PS4 across North America, and will come to other PlayStation Now enabled devices in the future.

You'll be able to choose from two subscription plans: one month for $19.99, or a three-month package for $44.99 (about $15 per month). The subscription provides access to a large and diverse catalog of PS3 games, ranging from action to RPG and everything in-between. Check out our launch trailer for a sneak peek.

Below are the details, to quote: I'm one of several members of the team leading our new platform, PlayStation Mobile, working to get you fun, engaging titles on a multitude of PlayStation-Certified smartphones and tablets.

Since we launched PlayStation Mobile on October 3rd, we've been receiving a steady stream of positive responses from both developers and consumers. PlayStation Suite Developer Program SDK Now Open Beta, FAQ Out

149w ago - Following up on the previous announcement and GDC 2012 presentation, today Sony has officially launched the PlayStation Suite SDK v0.98 as Open Beta alongside an FAQ below!

The PlayStation Suite SDK had previously been in Closed Beta since November last year, but now the free SDK is available for anyone to download, and one notable addition to the Open Beta is that it allows for content to be developed for the PS Vita too.

What developers can expect from this release is:

  • The ability to create games and apps for touchscreen and physical button devices.
  • Test and debug what they have developed on PlayStation Certified Devices and the PlayStation Vita.

Sony Unveils PlayStation Suite SDK Developer Program Presentation

154w ago - Following up on our previous article, this weekend Sony has made available a GDC 2012 Presentation (PDF) slideshow of their Developer Program for the PlayStation Suite SDK.

To quote: Thank you very much for your interest in the Developer Program for PlayStation Suite (PS Suite). The Developer Program for PS Suite will provide content developers PlayStation Suite SDK (PS Suite SDK), a set of development tools and software libraries.

We will release the open beta version of PS Suite SDK to content developers in April 2012 and the official version later this year. Contents developed with the official version of PS Suite SDK will be distributed through PlayStation Store and can be enjoyed on PlayStation Certified devices, as well as PlayStation Vita.

Sony Outlines Journey PS3 Early Access and Pre-Order Program

156w ago - For those who are not PlayStation Plus subscribers, today Associate Product Marketing Manager Brian Dunn has outlined how you can still obtain Journey early access alongside pre-order program details below.

To quote: If you have been following Journey, then you're probably as excited as I am about its release next week on March 13, as the first game in our Spring Fever event this year.

The reviews so far have been fantastic, and I can't wait to get online and experience the game online with other Journey fans.

If you caught Friday's update from Kellee, the last line of her post about big news coming Monday probably had you wondering what sort of news might be coming.

Well, earlier this morning I'm sure you saw this month's PS Plus blog post revealing that Journey will be available this week for all PS Plus members, one week ahead of the normal release date. What's more, this early access purchase comes with a bonus, an exclusive PS3 dynamic theme featuring some concept art from the game.
