New Sony PlayStation Games for the Week of February 24, 2015

6d ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new PlayStation and PSN game releases for the upcoming week today, as follows:

A new nightmare in the iconic horror series is about to begin. The episodic experience Resident Evil: Revelations 2 arrives this week on PS4 and PS3, unleashing four weeks of chilling stories. Ready your nightlights.

The first episode of Resident Evil: Revelations 2, titled Penal Colony, launches this week. Claire Redfield, one of the few survivors of the Raccoon City incident in 1998, has since joined a non-government organization named Terra Save, which works to help victims of biological weapons.

But during an event at Terra Save's headquarters, Claire and her co-workers are kidnapped by an unknown force and moved to a deserted island. A really scary one.

Prepare for the staple chills, gore, and intrigue that come with the Resident Evil series as Claire and Moira Burton struggle to survive in this new chapter of evil.

If that sounds a bit too scary, fear not: there are plenty more games coming to PlayStation this week, including the highly entertaining (and hilarious) Starwhal, which pits friends together in epic narwhal battles. In space. Oh yes, it's all too real.

Sony Introduces PlayStation Heroes, Play Games with Celebs for Causes

400°
2w ago - Sony VP of Platforms Marketing John Koller introduced PlayStation Heroes today, where users can play games with celebrities to benefit the world's great causes!

To quote: Hi PlayStation Nation! I'm extremely excited to announce PlayStation HEROES, a brand new initiative that will give PS4 owners the chance to play celebrities and professional athletes in the games of their choosing, with nearly all funds raised going to charity.

This is not a one-time event - gamers will get the chance to challenge celebs every month.

Winners will play some of the biggest PS4 games with cultural icons from the sports and entertainment worlds, online via PlayStation Network and in person.

Here's how it works: PS4 owners will purchase and download digital themes and other items via an official PlayStation HEROES app, with each dollar spent providing you with a sweepstakes entry to win one of the celebrity gaming sessions.

Ninety percent of the purchase price of those items will help aid some amazing charitable organizations including Make-A-Wish, The USO and The V Foundation for Cancer Research. To celebrate PlayStation HEROES and kick start our support for these incredible causes, we're donating $100,000 to each charity.

Flying a ship through space must be a fun, right? How about when you add a seemingly endless storm of asteroids, aliens, world-ending robots, and also a resupply ship that can kill you? That's right, Stardust is back, and it's gotten a boost with Super Stardust Ultra on PS4.

The well-loved, high-score chasing shooter Super Stardust returns to PlayStation with enhanced visuals, 1080p resolution, and buttery 60 frames per second gameplay.

Blast away at asteroids and enemies alike in nine different single-player modes, and challenge five new planets not available in the original version. Super Stardust Ultra is the definitive way to experience one of the best twin-stick shooters on PlayStation.

And if hunting monsters on a dangerous jungle world is more appetizing, look no further than the asymmetrical multiplayer shooter Evolve, which hits PS4 this week. Choose either a well-equipped hunter or a perfect killing machine and tackle objective-based rounds on a variety of alien landscapes.
