XDEV Studio Shares an Update to Resogun - Save the Last Pirates

XDEV Studio Shares an Update to Resogun - Save the Last Pirates 50°
24w ago - XDEV Studio Europe Associate Producer Rogan Ogden shared a sneak peek today on an update to Resogun dubbed Save the Last Pirates below.

To quote: Ahoy, me hearties, I be writin' you this message, t' inform you of new treasures to be found!

If you be playin' Resogun between the dates of September 18th and September 20th, you will find one of me very own ship mates has joined your crew... and you can keep him, I don't be wantin' that traitorous dog back!

Now that that bit is over, and I can type like a normal person again, we are of course celebrating the incredibly important and internationally recognized Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Everyone who plays Resogun between the 18th and 20th of September will receive a pirate themed human for free and to keep forever (well as long as you have your save data). The pirate skin will only be available at this time, so if you miss it, you miss it.

For those of you that are still frequent Resogun players, you will of course know that this will be the third themed human that we are releasing.

We still have a bunch more human themed skins to release through the rest of this year and the next, so here are a couple...

Video: Time Crisis Razing Storm on PS3 with DeadStorm Pirates 550°
228w ago - Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman had some time to speak with Localization Producer Ted Tsung today, and shared more about the new PlayStation Move shooter collection Time Crisis: Razing Storm.

To quote: It's scientific fact: Adding pirates to anything increases its fun factor exponentially.

It holds true for Time Crisis: Razing Storm, the new PlayStation Move arcade shooter collection that packs more play modes on one Blu-ray Disc than most games manage in three sequels - in this case, DeadStorm Pirates and Time Crisis 4.

We caught up with Localization Producer Ted Tsung to learn more about what Japanese gamers call "Big 3 Gun Shooting."

Let's start with the titular Razing Storm, which replicates Namco's trigger-happy shooter in its full arcade glory. Using the PlayStation Move, you and a partner tear terrorists to tatters with SMGs and riot shields and blast massive robot bosses with rocket launchers.

This PS3-exclusive edition adds a new off-the-rails Story campaign where you can freely move using an analog stick FPS-style, as well as throw grenades, swap weapons, and engage in mission objectives. You'll...

Canadian Game Industry Seeks to Jail Pirates, Targets Mod-chips

Canadian Game Industry Seeks to Jail Pirates, Targets Mod-chips 400°
306w ago - The Entertainment Software Association of Canada is calling for tougher copyright laws in the country, including jail time for pirates and the criminalization of mod-chips.

To quote: A bill modeled after the Digital Millennium Copyright Act in the U.S. was introduced in Canada last year but died before it could be passed when the government called an election.

Grassroots resistance to the bill was strong, with critics claiming it was overly restrictive and would leave individual citizens exposed to huge fines. Nonetheless, Parr called for similar legislation to be introduced "as soon as possible."

Among the changes called for by the ESAC is the right for the Canada Border Services Agency - what used to be called Customs - to seize goods they know to be pirated, something they cannot currently do without a court order, as well as stronger penalties, including jail time, for intellectual property crime and the outlawing of mod chips.
