Hi, everyone, I wanted to give you a heads up about PS3 firmware update (v2.43). Unlike previous updates, firmware v2.43 is specific to the Japan region, and only PS3 users there will be required to install the update. PS3 users in all other regions will not be prompted to download v2.43. However, if you manually initiate a firmware update by clicking on "System Update" under the XMB's Settings icon, the v2.43 update will be available, regardless of where you are located.

PS3 Bluetooth Headset details, new features via Firmware Update 350°

PSP-3000 Firmware Changes Discovered 50°
September 3, 2008 // 4:49 pm - Famitsu has relayed 3 Firmware features of the new PSP-3000. First of all, there is a setting for color space under the system settings part of the XMB. There is also an option for AUTOMATIC USB CONNECTION, in which the PSP switches to USB mode automatically when a USB device is connected, and lastly there is a noise reduction feature for video output.

First PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.5 Details Available; Screen Grabbing 200°
August 26, 2008 // 3:10 am - CVG has learnt that Sony's next firmware update for PlayStation 3 will include an option for screen grabbing, allowing you to take your own shots of what you get up to on your PS3.

A development source has told CVG that PS3 firmware update 2.5 is rumored to have screen grabbing built in.

Exactly how this would be done and what you could do with the shots once you've grabbed a piece of the action isn't yet known. But you've got to reckon that uploading them to a server and showing off and using the images as themes would be a safe bet.

Sony hasn't announced...

August 12, 2008 // 3:51 am - Nefarious has released an update to Cross Extended, a custom firmware 4.01 M33 compatible plug-in that displays detailed system information to users regarding their PSP, such as the motherboard type, battery voltage, and installed plug-in modules.

Version 1.2 features a reboot and shutdown function, as well as a slightly revamped user interface and configurable shortcut keys that can be modified by editing the included ce_config text file.

August 8, 2008 // 2:42 pm - Nefarious has released an update to Cross Extended, a Custom Firmware 4.01 M33 compatible plug-in that displays detailed system information to users regarding their PSP, such as the motherboard type, battery voltage, and installed plug-in modules.

In addition to a bug fix regarding Memory Stick cards with more than 4GB capacity, version 1.1 fixes a control issue that caused an incompatibility with certain homebrew applications – notably LightMP3 and PSPFiler.

Cross Extended v1.0 Custom Firmware Plug-In for PSP released! 50°
August 5, 2008 // 9:19 pm - Nefarious has released a new Custom Firmware plug-in dubbed "Cross Extended," which displays detailed system information to users regarding their PSP.

As shown in the screen capture below, information covered includes the motherboard type, battery voltage, and installed plug-in modules.

Once installed, the plugin can be accessed while running a game or in the XMB. Additionally, it is possible to take a screenshot of the system information screen by pressing Note + R.
