317w ago - The 1.60 patch update is now available to download when you load up your copy of Burnout Paradise. Also resolved is the initial network issue which came when 1.60 first released.

Party Pack and the Ultimate are now available via PlayStation Store, and the PC version is available to download also, trial version.

To quote: The Criterion Games Network Pages are now live. You can connect through your in-game PS3 and PC browsers.

Many apologies from the team for the slight delay in getting this feature to you.

We like to work at the cutting edge of new technology, and we wanted to bring you something special using the PlayStation 3's new in-game browser and also duplicate the feature on PC.

While the result is yet another awesome Burnout Paradise feature, things didn't go quite according to plan. We wanted you to know that we really appreciate your patience when we experience teething problems like this morning's.

We're particularly glad the feature's now running, because tomorrow we'll be announcing A NEW PREMIUM PACK FOR 2009 using the news area!

Rumor: Police Cars are Returning to Burnout Paradise via DLC

Rumor: Police Cars are Returning to Burnout Paradise via DLC 100°
318w ago - Update: Take a look at the split second footage around the 19 second mark. Police cars confirmed? And is the license plate suggesting a July 31st release?

In a trailer released recently for Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Criterion has hinted that police will be returning to Burnout in a future DLC pack.

At the sixty second mark the trailer, which we've embedded below, shows Burnout Paradise's new 'Burnout Store' with a mouse hovering over a button marked with a PCPD badge, which we presume to be an abbreviation of Paradise City Police Department. Underneath the button are the words 'Coming Soon'.

Police last appeared in the Burnout series way back in Burnout 2: Point of Impact where the game's Pursuit mode allowed players to chase after criminal's and take them down. The mode transformed into Road Rage for future iterations.

Criterion has stated that there is lots more downloadable content to come for Burnout Paradise, but could a police pack be one of them... ?

Rumor: WipEout Pulse May be Heading to the PlayStation 2

Rumor: WipEout Pulse May be Heading to the PlayStation 2 50°
318w ago - Eurogamer (linked above) claims to have knowledge of a PS2 version of WipEout Pulse in development, but an official Sony statement on the as-yet unannounced title muddles the actual status of the futuristic racer.

To quote: Sony declined to comment directly on WipEout Pulse for PS2, but told Eurogamer in a statement: "There are over 9.5m PS2s in the UK and we will continue to support this large userbase with software on an ongoing basis.

"Of course, we need to make a business decision that there will be sufficient demand for a particular product, but we see franchises such as SingStar and Buzz still selling very well - for example SingStar Abba which launched in December proved very successful.

"With regards to other titles we will judge each on an individual basis and make decisions accordingly."

Download: GOTSent v0.24 BETA 5b

GOTSent v0.24 BETA 5b Changelog:

- Fix for users who use nero, and complex path names who get an mp4 with only audio.
- A new mp4 muxer was used to prevent mp4box issues.
- In oddly named files and very large files, mp4box messes up. I hope this will fix the issues. the only drawback at the moment is that it doesn't set the aspect ratio correct yet. This is being worked on.
Furthermore, bitrate fixes, and target size selection is active (DVD 4.5, DVD 9 and BR 25).
- A fix was also made for drag and drop functionality, where it would only process the last file, but now does all dragged mkv files.

Regards!
