E3 2009: PS3 Debug Firmware 2.76 and 2.60 Leaked! 650°
June 1, 2009 // 9:20 pm - Well, it's not actually an E3 post but if Sony held an E3 for PS3 Devs they may have offered these, right?

Today two very nice guys (Garfield and another, whose nickname we will add if he wishes) have shared PS3 Debug/Test Firmware 2.76 and 2.60 with the resident PS3 Devs here- THANKS guys!!!

Unlike many PS3 Firmware updates that block access to certain folders and directories in dev_flash, 2.76 allows full read access to dev_flash, so you can access the PS1 and PS2 emu files, as well as all of the system sprx's, some self's, xml's and rco's.

PS3 Debug Firmware Update 2.52 Now Available! 650°
February 5, 2009 // 6:27 am - Over a month ago papa44 made mention HERE that he was planning to share PS3 Debug Firmware Update 2.52 with our community. Sadly, after stating he was uploading it he never replied again... and to date has been online only lurking.

Just recently I ran across it myself, but since it didn't come with any documentation all I had was a PS3UPDAT.PUP file that WinHex showed as being "2.52" (122 MB - 128,615,182 bytes).

The good news is, CJPC was able to successfully...

Video: PSP Debug Firmware Running on a Retail PSP Console 500°
January 18, 2009 // 10:55 pm - Well there is not much information yet pertaining to how this was done, but video proof has been provided as can be seen below courtesy of 0JOhnJAck0.

Now what is the significance of this you may ask. First off, I think its pretty obvious that this could not be done before. So this demonstrates just how far devs have gone with their knowledge of the PSP.

Of course one cannot help but to wonder if this will lead to any discoveries on Sony's other gaming device, the PS3.

Until more information about how exactly this was achieved on the PSP is released,...

PlayStation 3 Retail, Demo, and Debug Consoles - Oh My! 850°
November 9, 2008 // 10:13 pm - Many people have been wondering exactly what the differences are between Development and Retail PlayStation 3 Systems, and we figured now would be a great time to clarify these along with reporting some new findings.

Aside from the different hardware revisions of the PS3's motherboard, the systems are virtually the same as mentioned in previous posts. We have examined multiple PS3 TEST's, Retail PS3's, Demo Unit PS3's, and even Factory Mode PS3's, and found that there are no hardware differences between them at all.

Mind you, there are differences, but they are due to...
