The XCM Cross Battle Adapter for the PlayStation 3 will be making its debut here within the next couple of weeks.

It is an adapter to allow you to connect your Xbox 360 wired controller to your PlayStation 3 console for use with PS3 games.

We've received a bunch of emails from people wanting this type of accessory, so here it is.

BlizzCon 2008: New Battle.Net Will Have Fees 50°
October 13, 2008 // 4:16 am - A new version of the multiplayer browser Battle.Net will debut with Starcraft II. How will it be superior to the previous version? Well, it'll be able to hit you up for money.

During a BlizzCon '08 panel discussion, Diablo 3 director Jay Wilson said, "We are looking to monetize Battle.Net so that we get to keep making these games and updating features. We kind of have to." Blizzard wants to avoid putting in a subscription but yes, some as-yet-unknown features will cost money.

Apparently Activision really likes the word "monetize". They've been using it a lot...

Sony and Microsoft Begin Battle of Virtual Worlds 50°
October 13, 2008 // 4:16 am - The console kids both announced Second Life-style virtual environments at the Tokyo Game Show today. Both games show striking similarities to Linden Lab's creation.

Players are represented by avatars which live a virtual life - engaging in relationships, going about day-to-day business. These can be personalised to look as similar (or different) to how the user looks in real life.

Sony's "Home" virtual world for the Playstation 3 will be released on November 19th, after its delay twice already. It will go up against Microsoft's Xbox 360 "New Xbox Experience".

Yakuza 3 Discussed in Famitsu; Seamless Battle Transitions 50°
September 10, 2008 // 5:43 pm - Famitsu has some details in Yakuza 3, which is set to take off from where part 2 ended. This sequel includes a free camera which allows you to control your viewpoint, improved AI for town residents and thankfully a reduction in load time. Apparently, the transition from encounter to battle is now seamless.

To quote: Nagoshi told the magazine that the new title begins immediately after the events of part 2, as in right after that game's last scene. Kiryu and Haruka decide to head down to Okinawa, where they expect to find a peaceful life.
