January 23, 2008 // 3:28 pm - Sony have announced a new Hot Shots golf title coming to North America this March for the PS3 called Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds.

The next edition in the wacky golf series promises new shot mechanism, nifty soundtrack, new characters, game tips, and online play. The visuals are looking pretty nifty and nothing like we've been used to in older versions of the game.

UK homes to get super-fast fibre 50°
January 23, 2008 // 3:09 pm - The UK's first "fibre town" could go online in the autumn, delivering speeds of about 100Mbps (megabits per second) to consumers' homes.

Fibre firm H20 provides super-fast broadband via the sewers and either Bournemouth, Northampton or Dundee will be offered the service first.

It will compete with more established companies, such as Virgin Media, which is speeding up its cable network.

It follows government concerns that the UK is not embracing next-gen broadband.

Microsoft Hit With Class Action Lawsuit Over LIVE Outages 50°
January 4, 2008 // 10:41 pm - Microsoft's Xbox Live service suffered some downtime during the holidays. People complained. Microsoft made-up, said they were sorry, and is now giving away a free Xbox Live Arcade game to all members of the service.

That wasn't good enough for three Texans, who today filed a class action lawsuit against the company. The group allege that Microsoft "failed to provide adequate access and service to Xbox Live and its subscribers."

Wipeout HD: 1080p, 60fps and jaw-droppingly gorgeous 500°
December 26, 2007 // 10:52 pm - Did you hear that thud? That's the sound of our jaws accelerating to the floor, smashing into a million tiny pieces. New images of Wipeout HD have surfaced at PlayFrance, and they look absolutely stunning.

What makes this more impressive is that all of these images will be running in full 1080p HD resolution, and at a silky smooth 60fps. That's almost unheard of in this generation of games. Imagine how exhilarating it will be to race these stunning tracks with Wipeout's trademark sense of speed.

FlatOut PSP - looking good 50°
December 19, 2007 // 1:46 pm - Two things stand out in the FlatOut series - insane amounts of destruction and the rag-doll mini games, and these screens show both of those in full effect on the PSP sequel, FlatOut Head On.

It's no wonder it looks good - it's one of the few games lining up to take full advantage of the increased processing power of the PSP running in the new 333Mhz setting (which God of War will also use when it hits the portable).
