Condemned: Bloodshot postponed

Condemned: Bloodshot postponed 300°
365w ago - Bad news for fans of survival horror, which will have to wait a little longer before they can taste 2 Condemned: Bloodshot.

SEGA indeed came to announce a further postponement of the game, even though the title had already been recently postponed by two weeks.

It is therefore necessary to wait until April 4 to find the friend Ethan Thomas in action. Until then, enjoy some new images of the game.

COD4 patch ruins experience for Xbox 360!

COD4 patch ruins experience for Xbox 360! 250°
365w ago - The call of duty 4 patch has been out for a week now on the Xbox 360 and after the brief excitement of some relatively small changes, I am left wondering what ever happened to that once great game.

For me, the game has become near impossible to play online. The previously frequent green bars and 10 player kill streaks have been replaced by horrid red bars in 8 out of the 10 rooms I join and a kill ratio that is going down like the Titanic.

I believe the optimized server selection update is primarily to blame, with those of us in smaller territories (NZ / AU) forced to play under a North American host. This is far from ideal and has me considering whether I need to be replacing my nightly game of choice with something a little less frustrating. This from Robert Bowling, the Director of Communications / Community Manager of Infinity Ward:

That doesn't mean it will always choose a US player, but I understand that the odds are typically stacked against some of our more remote players to be selected as host. We're currently looking at options available that might help out with those odds and I'll keep you updated on it.

Doesn't sound too promising if you ask me. I am open to suggestions (except from Halo fan boys) of other FPS games that don't handle like a pea shooter and...

Sony, Microsoft discuss Blu-ray for Xbox 360

Sony, Microsoft discuss Blu-ray for Xbox 360 350°
365w ago - Sony is in talks with console rival Microsoft about offering a Blu-ray drive for the Xbox 360, according to a senior executive.

The Japanese electronics maker has until now touted Blu-ray as an advantage its PlayStation 3 holds over Microsoft's console. Microsoft has backed Toshiba's HD-DVD format and offered an HD-DVD drive that can be plugged into the 360.

But after Sony's victory last month in the high-definition DVD format war, Stan Glasgow, Sony Electronics US president, said the two sides were now talking about Microsoft adopting Blu-ray.

A Blu-ray drive in a 360 would make Microsoft more competitive with the PS3, but it would also mean extra revenues for Sony's electronics division. It would also add further cost to the 360, meaning a premium edition of the console could be necessary.

A Blu-ray drive could be incorporated in its top-of-the-range Elite Xbox, or Microsoft could again offer a drive as a plug-in peripheral.

Mr Glasgow, speaking at a media dinner, added that discussions were also taking place with Apple, which has not offered Blu-ray drives on any of its computers so far and has focused on digital media via downloads and streaming through devices such as its Apple TV.

The Sony president said he did not believe Blu-ray would be...

RockStar Horrified by Xbox 360 Bully: Scholarship Edition Issues

RockStar Horrified by Xbox 360 Bully: Scholarship Edition Issues 250°
365w ago - We wrote earlier today of the issues surround the Xbox 360 version of Bully: Scholarship Edition, hoping to get a statement from Rockstar Games on the status of either a fix or a replacement plan for those affected.

For those not up to speed, the 360 port is reportedly plagued with freezing issues and audio glitches in addition to a less than solid frame rate. Rockstar issued a statement tonight, saying the staff was "devastated" to learn of the issues surrounding the Bully port, something they say didn't come up in the QA process.

Their full statement follows:

We have just become aware of the issues people are having with Bully Scholarship Edition on Xbox 360. It appears that some older 360s are experiencing framerate issues, freezes and other problems. You have our word that we never experienced any of this in QA - in any of our offices or at Microsoft.

I am horrified, and we are now working around the clock to rectify this situation. Thanks to Neo-Gaf for bringing this matter to our attention. We love our games and put a huge amount of energy and care into making them all that they can be. We would never shove anything out the door - we never have and never will. We apologise to everyone affected for the inconvenience.

Respectfully, Sam Houser

Would You Play a Call of Duty MMO?

Would You Play a Call of Duty MMO? 200°
365w ago - Speaking to a group of investment analysts today, Activision CEO (and soon to be Activision Blizzard president and CEO) Bobby Kotick said the company is considering turning its Call of Duty franchise into a massively multiplayer online game.

Kotick briefly touched on the idea in answer to a question at the 2008 Morgan Stanley Technology Conference about how merging Activision with Vivendi Games might open up new opportunities for both companies.

Before closing its deal with Vivendi (which owns Sierra and Blizzard), Kotick said Activision looked at five years of data on U.S. publishers' attempts to break into the MMO market. Most resulted in failure, cancellation or low profit margins.

By teaming up with Blizzard, which has proven its online mettle with World of Warcraft, he said Activision can not only pull in WoW's subscriber base to strengthen its balance sheet but also to learn from the company's veterans how to undertake new projects.

That could include tapping Blizzard talent to figure out how Activision might take Call of Duty in an MMO direction, Kotick said. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, developed by Infinity Ward, was a huge hit for Activision in 2007 and routinely appears at the top of Xbox Live's weekly list of most-played games.

Kotick only touched...
