Video: XSeed Announces Way of The Samurai 4 Out on PSN Today

50°
132w ago - XSeed Senior Editor Jessica Chavez has announced today that Way of The Samurai 4 is out on PSN beginning today with a new video trailer below.

To quote: Last time , my colleague Tom introduced you guys to our upcoming release (out today!), Way of the Samurai 4.

He expounded on the back story, the sandbox nature of its gameplay, and a bit of the silliness you will encounter if you take up arms in Amihama.

He tried to warn you. I'm just going to tell you. This game is crazy. Like, if you punch people, eggs fall out crazy.

Way of the Samurai 4 drops players into a period drama populated by Edo-era Japanese citizens, trade-hungry foreigners and hundreds of crates flaunting their breakability. As a masterless samurai, you're free to aid whichever faction vying for dominance in Amihama that you like.

You can choose to support the local government (the Shogunate forces), the isolationists movement (the Prajna), or the diminutive, sweets-obsessed diplomatic envoy from the British. Or you can do what I did and just run around killing everybody.

Whether or not you play by the rules is up to you. With ten endings and a ton of branching story potentials, I highly recommend just trying everything. Everything.

Videos: Sony Interviews Media Molecule, Talks of Tearaway!

132w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton has shared some video interview footage today spotlighting Tearaway by Media Molecule below.

To quote: One of the big highlights of Gamescom last week was Media Molecule's return to the spotlight with Vita adventure Tearaway - the UK studio's first title since LittleBigPlanet 2.

Predictably, it's a riot of colour, creativity and wild invention, telling the story of iota - a plucky young hero on a mission to deliver a unique message to you, the player.

You'll help him on his way by interacting with his environment via the Vita's touch screen and rear touch panel. It looks like an absolute delight to play, leveraging all the Vita's features to offer up a unique, exciting gameplay experience.

The morning after they revealed the game on stage during the Sony press conference, Media Molecule co-founder Alex Evans and "design lead/chief doodler" Rex Crowle kindly sat down with me for a quick chat about the ideas driving the game, as well as a few words on the LittleBigPlanet series.

Take a look at the video below, and then, for good measure, treat yourself to one...

Video: Media Molecule's New Project Revealed: Tearaway for PS Vita

50°
133w ago - Media Molecule Studio Director Siobhan Reddy has officially revealed their new project today, dubbed Tearaway for Sony's PlayStation Vita handheld console!

To quote: Tearaway is kind of like a buddy movie. It stars iota, a messenger from a paper dimension, whose envelope head contains an urgent message to deliver... to you!

It's a very special message, and one that's unique for each and every player. In order to read yours, you'll need to take up the role of co-star and, together with iota, journey through the vibrant papery landscape – two buddies going on an epic adventure.

You and iota will travel afar, taking on enemies and helping those in need. You'll conquer adversity and discover magical papery surprises. But in Tearaway, you're holding more than just a PS Vita in your hands - you're holding the paper world itself!

Using the god-like powers inherent to someone who can hold an entire world in their giant hands, you can make your presence felt using a wide range of godly powers that take advantage of all the PS Vita's bells and whistles – some subtle and some epic.

You can shake things up or turn them upside down. A gentle breath from you is a gusty storm. You can even poke your fingers into the back of the PS Vita to tear through into the world...

Video: New PSP SRPG Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time Out Next Week

136w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced today alongside a video trailer that a new PSP SRPG Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time will be out next week!

To quote: We're way-fairly convinced you're going to find this post way-fairly awesome, and no, not just because it's about Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time, the upcoming PSP strategy RPG from, well... us.

As for why we're so convinced, it's becau- wait, what? Oh, no, you heard right; we said "PSP."

Look, folks, it's still an immensely popular system with a huge user base and an amazing library of RPGs and SRPGs. Also, with a game as ridiculously lengthy as Growlanser: WoT (and this PSP remaster is significantly meatier than the original release from way-back-when).

It does take a while to localize things from Japanese to English, so it's not as though we're eagerly planning PSP games for 2025. Unless, of course, the PSP becomes sentient and takes over the world, in which case we welcome our new PSP overlords and commit to supporting the system for all eternity.

Anyhoo, the reason you should be am excite for this post is because:

It is to celebrate the debut of the game's full trailer (above), which shows...
