Second Son's Seattle: Bringing the Infamous City to Life on PS4

Second Son's Seattle: Bringing the Infamous City to Life on PS4 100°
57w ago - Sucker Punch Productions Art Director Horia Dociu is here with a video which brings the the infamous city Seattle to life in Second Son on PS4.

To quote: From the start, Seattle felt like the perfect locale for Second Son. Sucker Punch Productions is located just outside of Seattle, and we saw this as an opportunity to recreate the feeling of our home town.

We wanted to capture a level of detail we had never attempted before using the amazing speed, graphics processing power, and high resolution output of PS4. Not to mention, being from here, we just couldn't build a fake city with a fake Space Needle... I mean "Galactic Tower" just doesn't sound right to us.

Our goal was to create an urban playground for the player as they experience Delsin's amazing superhuman powers, so it was paramount that we capture the essence of the city. We wanted to give the player the feeling of walking down an alleyway and seeing the rain accumulate between the cobblestones, and the reflections of the rain-streaked, brick buildings and neon market signs.

Or the feeling of looking up at the sun as it breaks through the clouds, sending rays of light through enormous pine trees. We challenged our team to create all the painstaking...

MonkeyPaw Games Retro Rush Week 2: Lucifer Ring Hits PSN

MonkeyPaw Games Retro Rush Week 2: Lucifer Ring Hits PSN 50°
58w ago - MoneyPaw Games PR Manager Ryan Olsen is back with Retro Rush Week 2, which features Lucifer Ring on PSN today.

Below are the details, to quote: MonkeyPaw Games is back for the second game in the Retro Rush lineup! What's the Retro Rush? Each week, for six weeks, we'll be releasing a new import PSone Classic on the PSN for PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and PSP. The first week was Double Dragon, and now Lucifer Ring is the next stop for Week 2.

Lucifer Ring is another title that hasn't seen a release outside of Japan and we are the first to bring it over the ocean and on to the PlayStation Network. It's a 3D beat-'em-up that's heavy on action.

You play as a young hero named Nash who is tasked with stopping a dark wizard from using the Lucifer Rings that will open the gates of Hell. Naturally, Nash will have to hack and slash his way through Centaurs, Goblins, Dragons and creatures named Bob to put a stop to the evil forces. There will be mini-bosses and multi-state level bosses to round out this adventure to put our hero to the test.

Dark wizards never let heroes get any rest, do they?

Lucifer Ring originally released in 1998 on the original PlayStation, which means this classic gem will see it's first North American release 16 years after the original release...

Video: Pure Pool for PS4: Bring the Pool Hall Home on PlayStation 4 100°
64w ago - Voofoo Studios Creative Producer Shaun Read shared a video announcing that Pure Pool for PS4 brings the pool hall home on PlayStation 4.

To quote: VooFoo has been building quite a reputation for bringing you gorgeous looking games, and today is no exception with the announcement of our latest labor of love: Pure Pool for PS4.

Over the years we've worked hard to create visually stunning games. From the the critically acclaimed Hustle Kings, winner of Kotaku's 'Best Downloadable Sports Game of the Year' award, to the visual tour-de-force that is Pure Chess, the most realistic looking chess videogame you'll ever play; we certainly like our games to make jaws drop here at VooFoo.

We like our pool games here at Voofoo, so when Ripstone approached us with the opportunity to develop one for Sony's new hardware, we jumped at the chance.

Forget everything you know about pool games, because we're taking Pure Pool to a whole other dimension! This game will bring a living, breathing, connected Pool Hall to your living room. By now, you know we enjoy pushing hardware to the limit to create photo-realistic games.

Well, using the immense power of PS4, we're...

Mastering Knack's Unlockable Gadgets on PlayStation 4 / PS4

Mastering Knack's Unlockable Gadgets on PlayStation 4 / PS4 50°
66w ago - Sony Game Director Mark Cerny shared details today on mastering Knack's unlockable gadgets on PlayStation 4 / PS4.

Below are the details, to quote: PS4 released in North America on November 15th, and it was wonderful to see the response! We sold over a million units in the first day, which set a record for any console in the PlayStation family.

Knack released alongside PS4, which was also very nice and a culmination of a lot of hard work! We're excited to have the game out in the wild, so to speak. Now that it's out there, we wanted to take a little time to explain how having friends on PlayStation Network can enhance the game by boosting the number of gadgets you can collect.

There are over sixty secret rooms in Knack, and contained within these rooms are treasure chests - when Knack opens a chest, a random item pops out. Most of these items are parts of gadgets that will help Knack in his quest.

There are eight gadgets in all, and they vary greatly in their difficulty to construct. Simpler gadgets are made of three parts, and the tougher gadgets are made of up to seven parts.

However, you have help! If any of your friends have found this same secret room, you can see the item that they found there. If you'd prefer the item that a friend found - perhaps it's...

Video: Super Motherload on PS4: Exploring the Story & Game Modes

Video: Super Motherload on PS4: Exploring the Story & Game Modes 50°
69w ago - XGen Studios CEO and Founder Skye Boyes shared a video today on Super Motherload on PS4 which explores both the story and game modes below.

To quote: With just one week until Super Motherload launches alongside PS4, I'm eager to share with you PlayStation.Blog readers a bit about what makes Super Motherload tick, as well as show off a brand new video to set the scene.

Super Motherload is an arcade style digging adventure for one to four players, set on Mars in the retro future (And if that's not a mouthful enough, you're welcome to add "Soviet space race," "B movie sci-fi," and "mining puzzler" to the mix!).

Inspired by our original game, Motherload, we wanted to bring Mars mining to consoles and breathe some life back into the four-player, couch co-op style of gameplay that we love and miss so much. Online play can't hold a candle to a good, "reassuring" elbow to the ribs when your buddy goes in the wrong direction with no fuel to spare.

Super Motherload's visual charm is no doubt rooted in some of our favorite movies and tv shows of past decades, including Battlestar Galactica (the original), Buck Rogers, and Moon, to name a few. Those favorites, along with an '80s inspired soundtrack, all lend to...
