PlayStation Move PS3 Developer Diary: Brunswick Pro Bowling

PlayStation Move PS3 Developer Diary: Brunswick Pro Bowling 100°
253w ago - FarSight Studios Lead Designer Bobby King has made available a PlayStation Move Brunswick Pro Bowling video as part of the ongoing PS3 Developer Diary series today.

To quote: I'm the lead designer of Brunswick Pro Bowling and undisputed bowling champion of FarSight Studios!

Well, Jeff Rice, the lead programmer of our bowling game is pretty darn good too, so he might dispute my title. More than half of our studio bowls regularly in a weekly league up here in Big Bear Lake, CA so most of us are decent bowlers and huge fans of the sport.

We are all very excited to be working with Crave and Brunswick to make the definitive bowling game.

A big part of that excitement has to do with the real world data we get from the PlayStation Move motion controller. For more details how perfect the PlayStation Move is for Brunswick Pro Bowling, check out the video below.

There are many different styles to bowling and thanks to accuracy of the PlayStation Move, we can mimic the technique of all types of throws.

Whether you throw a huge hook or toss a straight ball at rocket speed, the...

Video: PlayStation Move Developer Diary - The Fight: Lights Out 500°
255w ago - Producer John McLaughlin has made available a new PlayStation Move Developer Diary video today dubbed The Fight: Lights Out.

To quote: We had a really positive response from everyone who played the game at the Game Developers Conference under the working title, "Motion Fighter," and since then we've been working hard on getting the game together. We're currently in an alpha state and things are starting to look sweet.

We've conducted a ton of motion capture to ensure that every punch, every hit reaction, every dirty move and every hard-hitting knockout makes the player feel right in the thick of the action.

So get ready to go blow-for-blow in the fight of your life because now, only with PS3 and the PlayStation Move motion controller, you'll be able to throw punches with total precision. Throw jabs, hooks and uppercuts any way you like, just as you would in real life. Duck, bob and weave in real-time with the PlayStation Eye tracking your head movements.

Don't think you're much of a fighter? Well, it doesn't matter – just fight dirty instead! Launch a two-handed ear drum burst to stun your opponent and follow up with a sly elbow to the face. Grab hold of his ears, head-butt him and then finish him off with...

260w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a video interview today with Blade Kitten PSN Developer Steve Stamatiadis, as follows:

Last month, Krome Studios Steve Stamatiadis introduced you to Blade Kitten, an upcoming hi def 2D action game coming exclusively to PSN this Spring. It's about time we hear more about the cat-girl with the pink hair, yeah?

Good thing "Space Captain" Steve flew in from Brisbane, Australia to show off Blade Kitten to us during GDC.

In this interview, Steve talks about the game's origins as a comic-book-meant-to-be-the-origin-for-a-game, the game's vivid art style, and when you're going to get to play it - along with some never-before-seen video.

Let us know what you think so far, and I'll pass your feedback to Krome!

Video: MAG PlayStation 3 Developer Tips: Officer in Charge 50°
262w ago - To conclude their ongoing MAG PlayStation 3 developer tips series, Zipper Interactive's Sr. Community Manager Jeremy Dunham has shared an 'Officer in Charge' video below.

To quote: After a three-week run, we've come to our final installment of our MAG Developer Tip series. To close it out Zipper's training, vehicle and environment designer Ben Jones walks us through the biggest responsibility in the game: being the OIC.

With all the great tips that have come from other Zippers over the week (particularly all of the leadership-oriented bits that have come out over the last few days), I'm going to impart this small list of tried and true techniques that build upon earlier strategies and maximize your effectiveness as an OIC. Some are obvious, some aren't, but all are helpful.

Basic Tips:

• Your OIC abilities can be accessed by using the TCM through the D-Pad or the CNI by pressing SELECT.
• These abilities are best used while trying to make a push as either an attacker or defender, so try and time their use with changes in the battle! If attackers have opened up their forward spawns try blockading them to give your team time to regroup.
• Communicating...
