Man Buys $2000 MacBook Pro at Best Buy, Gets Only a Brick 500°
April 30, 2009 // 11:15 pm - Well here we go again; less than a week after a boy received a Nintendo DS box with rocks in it, a similar incident has happened to someone buying a MacBook Pro at Best Buy.

This time however, instead of finding rocks, the buyer received a nice red brick. As delighted as he was, I think he would have rather got his $2000 MacBook Pro.

So far no one has taken responsibility for the problem, and it doesn't look like anybody will; Best Buy says the box was factory sealed when sold, and Apple hasn't said anything yet.

We're about to drop the Smack Pack on you (sold separately), which includes the Darts and Fortress game Modes. As I'm sure you know, traditional Darts wouldn't be suitable for PAIN. We wouldn't dare make something as simple as launching a character into an oversized dartboard.

Instead, you have to launch you character toward a giant sticky billboard with multiple bullseyes painted on it, in the process grabbing...

January 28, 2009 // 10:49 pm - According to (linked above), Smack Down Productions CEO Laurent Benadiba feels that Sony isn't focusing enough on the PSP. He also believes that a significant marketing push could go a long way towards boosting sales. To quote:

"I worked for two years on the PSP, as one of the only developers then, and I really believed in the platform at the time," he said. "I still believe there's potential, but it's like self-confidence - if you trust yourself, maybe others will trust you. If you don't trust yourself, nobody will trust you.

"I think that's...

Why the Windows 7 Taskbar Beats Mac OS X's Dock 300°
January 22, 2009 // 5:33 am - Yeah, I said it. The Windows 7 taskbar is the most important Windows UI change since Windows 95, and it will dramatically change the way you use Windows. And it's better than the Mac's Dock.

That's because the "superbar" -as the taskbar is known by developers- jerks taskbar functionality in a new direction. It's no longer merely a window manager.. just a place to manage open windows and by proxy, open applications. It's now a bona fide application launcher.

More than that, it blends the two in ways that will remind many of the OS X Dock-apps that are running and those...
