European PlayStation Store Update for February 18, 2010 50°
263w ago - Today Mike Kebby from the SCEE PlayStation Store Team has shared this week's European PSN update, as follows:

Game highlights this week come in the form of Peggle Nights and Revenge of the Wounded Dragon for PS3, and SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 and Half-Minute Hero for PSP.

I know these titles have been asked about a fair bit in recent weeks, so now you can get your hands on them.

There's lots of additional content this week, notably the next sequence for Assassin's Creed II, but also for those of you who have not yet got into the world of Burnout Paradise, we have two new, special bundles for you.

The Complete Edition collects the full game, and all the packs that have been previously released, whilst there is also the Complete DLC Bundle that collects all the individual packs only (for those of you who already have the full game).

That's not all, there's a host of other content also available...full details in the list below.

PlayStation NBA All-Star Weekend, Custom PSPGos & PS3 Games

PlayStation NBA All-Star Weekend, Custom PSPGos & PS3 Games 50°
263w ago - Today Public Relations Manager Alex Armour has blogged about the PlayStation NBA All-Star weekend, which features custom PSPGos, PS3 games and more!

To quote: The convergence of athletes and videogames was apparent this past weekend as PlayStation once again powered up the official NBA Players' Lounge at NBA All-Star Weekend in Dallas.

This was yet again a great opportunity to give players and families a chance to relax, get some food and drink, and play some of the latest PlayStation games including MLB 10: The Show, Gran Turismo 5, ModNation Racers and God of War III.

Of course we didn't just leave it at that. We also brought back the custom laser etching machine to carve some customized designs into PSPgos and wooden cases to provide for the all-star players. The PSPs were painted with unique all-star colors in a variety of styles, and etched with a design of the player's choice.

The laser machine went into overtime though, as the team laser etched the customized PSP boxes, a variety of notebooks, and even random guest items like phones and laptops. Additionally, Sony Electronics was kind enough to donate some equipment to also include for the players.

It was incredibly...

Video: Star Wars and Indiana Jones Coming to PlayStation Home 50°
263w ago - In a follow-up to the earlier update, Online Community Specialist Locust_Star has just announced that both Star Wars and Indiana Jones items and gear is coming to PlayStation Home as part of several new additions.

To quote: I challenge you to log in to PlayStation Home this Thursday, February 18th and try to wade through the wide assortment of new stuff we'll have waiting for you.

We're talking two new game spaces (MotorStorm and LocoRoco), two new personal spaces (LocoRoco and PlanetLand), a new Mall (full of Star Wars gear - including lightsabers, Stormtrooper costumes, and more!), new videos in the Theater (for The Tester, and SOCOM: Fire Team Bravo) and events galore.

We have a lot to look and just a little space to do it in, so let's get down to it!

When you pull up your World Map this Thursday, you'll notice that the MotorStorm chip has reappeared, along with a brand new MotorStorm game space.

The new MotorStorm Super Carrier is essentially a battleship turned full-on party boat, custom-crafted for all of you road warriors that are looking for the...

Video: MAG PlayStation 3 Developer Tips: Direct Action

Video: MAG PlayStation 3 Developer Tips: Direct Action 50°
263w ago - Zipper Interactive Sr. Community Manager Jeremy Dunham has posted yet another installment in their MAG PlayStation 3 developer tips series, with today's video dubbed Direct Action.

To quote: For today's Zip-Tips, Lead Tester and owner of the world's largest video game t-shirt collection, Jay Embry, walks us through the popular Direct Action class in MAG.

If you're the visual type we have this nifty Direct Action video narrated by Jay himself, followed by his handy tips. Enjoy!

Hello, this is Jay! The Direct Action soldier is invaluable to the team whether they're attacking or defending. If attacking, it's going to be your job to do as much damage as possible to key defensible points – like using your rockets to take out Defensive Emplacement Turrets.

If defending, it's the Direct Action guy's job to keep key defense objectives up and running or out of enemy hands all together. Here are some specific tips to help you be the most effective Direct Action soldier you can be.

Basic Tips

• To be Direct Action, the most obvious step is to make sure you have a heavy machine gun in your loadout.
• Keep some kind of demolition gear with you...

Atlus Unveils 3D Dot Game Heroes Editor for PlayStation 3

Atlus Unveils 3D Dot Game Heroes Editor for PlayStation 3 50°
263w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has unveiled the editor today for 3D Dot Game Heroes on PlayStation 3.

To quote: Most games ask you to assume the role of a hero. Often, you don't have any say in who they are or what they look like, and in some cases the customization options you're given are limited.

3D Dot Game Heroes, while it takes its inspiration and purpose from 8 and 16-bit classics that came out years ago, gives the gamer nearly limitless control over the look (and movement) of their protagonist.

The game may be all homage, but it's certainly not out to limit anyone's homagination! *crickets chirp*

Err... Let's dive into the all-powerful, easy-to-use editor, shall we? One of the custom characters that comes included on the disc. I'll call him... Monkey Kong?

Creating a custom character in 3DDGH (my fingers thank me for the abbreviation, so please note it) is more than just figuring out what it will be and look like; you have to animate it, too. Before the self-proclaimed "artistically-challenged" gamers run for the hills, snapping paintbrushes between their thumbs and index fingers, I'll point out a couple of things.

First, the North American release of...
