PowerMad Review of PAIN for the PlayStation 3 Console 550°
January 24, 2009 // 3:36 am - Pain for the PlayStation 3 gaming console is quite the unique game. However I don't feel it's up to par with some of the other games on the PlayStation Network store.

The main problem I have with the game is the fact that although the game is $10 in the U.S. they only give you 1 level to start with. This bugs me as a gamer because I believe for $10 I should get a little bigger game for what I paid for it.

My second complaint is about the game play. Although is really fun when you have a few buddies over for a beer, it just seems repetitive after time. Granted the 2 player...

Review: Killzone 2 for the PlayStation 3 Console - 9.9/10 Overall 250°
January 17, 2009 // 12:57 am - MEGamers write: Truth is, all my life I've been an ardent PC gamer that scoffed at inferior FPS experiences on the console. My colleagues always teased me for being a hardcore PC fanatic (fancy name for "fanboy").

It's a given fact that PC gamers are much harder to please in terms of quality or gameplay and hence, console FPS ports are always a disappointment.

Throughout the years, being an extremist that I am, console games like Halo 3 only managed a "hmmmm", while few others like Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2 never went beyond the "meh" factor.

Review: Star Ocean: Second Evolution for PlayStation Portable 100°
January 16, 2009 // 10:28 pm - Although Star Ocean: First Departure just came out this past October, Square-Enix has already cranked out a port of its sequel with Star Ocean: Second Evolution.

Gameplay-wise, the two are absolutely identical, so if you just recently played through First Departure, unless you absolutely loved it to death, we recommend giving yourself a little buffer time so you don't get tired of the formula.

Unlike the first Star Ocean though, at the start you get to choose between two distinct characters: Claude, the Earthling from a technologically advanced space-traveling federation,...

Review: PSM3 Gives Street Fighter IV a 95: Beat-em-ups Future! 50°
January 14, 2009 // 5:22 am - GamesRadar's sister mag PSM3 UK has printed their review of Street Fighter IV, and based on their review it fits the bill as defining the past and future of beat-em-ups!

PSM3 scored it a 95, and concluded that Capcom has given Street Fighter back to the people where it belongs.

To quote: With SFIV, Capcom have defined what it is to be a fighting game in the twenty-first century just like they did in the twentieth.

That meant dumping the missteps taken by Street Fighter III, and drawing from the very best moments of the series - the accessibility of Street...

Review: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 for PlayStation 2 300°
December 22, 2008 // 9:57 pm - Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is the latest installment in the SMT series. SMT: Persona 3 was one of the best RPGs last year and Atlus' breakthrough title that got them the recognition they deserved, winning many new fans.

Many were excited about Persona 4's release date announcement, but many were also worried about the game being released this soon making them think it would've been rushed. In many interviews throughout the year, Atlus has been touting Persona 4 as an epic RPG, and they were right about that. But just how epic is Persona 4?

The game starts off...

PowerMad Review of Fallout 3 for the PlayStation 3 Console 100°
December 15, 2008 // 11:12 pm - Resistance 2, Gears of War 2, and Little Big Planet, To me? Those are filler compared to the massive game known as Fallout 3.

This game could easily be called game of the year 2008 by everyone. Why? Because of 2 words, Open Environment. Fallout 3 may not have Online game play, or a chainsaw to hack people up with (Actually it does =D), but it does have what I consider to be the MOST important aspect of games this generation for the PlayStation 3.

Free roaming games have been my personal favorite from the start. But Fallout 3 goes above and beyond the call of duty, making...
