Are Sony PlayStation 3 Exclusive Titles Cursed by the Media? 400°
March 8, 2009 // 7:54 pm - PS3 exclusives have a way of getting dissed by the general public and media before they are given a chance. The more superstitious fanboy might even call it a PS3 curse.

Let's run down the list: Lair became an industry whipping boy filling up YouTube with spastics that flailed SIXAXIS controllers with reckless abandon.

Ninja Theory's gorgeous Heavenly Sword wasn't measured on its own merits, but was held up against the standard that should be reserved for God of War.

Sega's stellar Valkyria Chronicles is seemingly invisible to the majority of mainstream...

Rest In Peace: Traditional Console RPG Titles 200°
February 21, 2009 // 8:55 am - Have you misplaced a part of your youth? A convoluted, engrossing story? Individualized, quirky characters? A grossly overpowered, unusually stylish protagonist? If you've answered yes to one or all of these questions, then you, like me, are itching for a traditional, console-style RPG.

I, more than most, will play anything that receives a decent amount of buzz. I've tackled everything, within the last few years, from Fallout 3 to Eternal Sonata...

Analyst: Triple-A Titles Should Maintain US $59 Price Point 50°
February 3, 2009 // 9:23 pm - I think we have established that the video game industry is not recession proof in this cookie-crumbling economy, yeah? Yeah.

Should we expect games to become cheaper then? Yes. And no. Not for AAA titles at least, according to analysts.

The issue came up when some high-profile games got price cuts, like Mirror's Edge, Guitar Hero, and Prince of Persia. It got some industry watchers worrying that new releases will be priced lower.

Analyst Todd Greenwald of Signal Hill thinks that won't happen though, saying that US$ 59 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360...

January 27, 2009 // 3:44 am - 2009 already looks to be a great year for gaming, the unfortunate truth when it comes to a stellar year is titles will be delayed to avoid the usual "hassles" attributed to a "clogged" year.
