73w ago - Sony Producer Kumi Yuasa shared details and a video today spotlighting Destiny of Spirits on PlayStation Vita below.

To quote: In Destiny of Spirits, building powerful spirits and working cooperatively with other users will be the key to progress successfully in the game.

If you haven't heard of Destiny of Spirits yet, it is a free-to-play, location-based, social strategy game for the PlayStation Vita. Players from around the world work cooperatively in turn-based, RPG style action to battle fierce Chaos spirits.

Today, I'd like to talk about summoning, merging and renting supporter spirits as well as items that can be used to help maximize your game progress.

Spirit Points, Summoning Stones and Destiny Orbs

This world contains three types of magical substances to earn and collect: Spirit Points, Summoning Stones, and Destiny Orbs.

• Spirit Points are mainly used to merge and rent Spirits from other Spirit Masters around the world.
• Summoning Stones are mainly used to summon Spirits to add to your collection.
• Destiny Orbs are the most powerful magical substance in this world, and they aren't easy to come by. You can obtain powerful Spirits...

73w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new PlayStation 3 and PSN releases for the upcoming week today, as follows:

Prepare to unravel supernatural mysteries, or relive two award-winning experiences of 2012. All this and more join the PlayStation lineup this week. Please charge your DualShocks in preparation.

Jodie Holmes has not lived her life alone. Since childhood, she has been followed by an unseen entity of incredible power. It's bound to her, and the mystery of this connection only deepens throughout her years. Experience Jodie's story on Tuesday when Beyond: Two Souls launches for PS3.

This story-driven thriller comes from the same team that brought you Heavy Rain in 2010, so you can expect the same quality character drama and visual spectacle.

And if you missed out on Borderlands 2 or Dishonored - two critically-acclaimed games that launched last year - you can finally see why gamers have been raving.

Both games are getting Game of the Year Editions this week, which gives you the opportunity to catch up on your gun-crazy loot hunting, or stealth-infused steampunk, respectively.

Looking for something a little quirkier? Consider Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness, and plunge into the RPG insanity that can satisfy even...

73w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton announced that further details on the upcoming PlayStation App for PS4 are available from President Shuhei Yoshida today.

To quote: Did any of the early birds among you stay up the week before last to watch the Tokyo Game Show keynote?

If you did, you'll have seen Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida take to the stage to unveil the new PlayStation App, launching alongside PS4 later this year.

In general terms, the new app allows you to take the PlayStation experience with you when you're away from your PS4. You can stay in touch with friends, compare Trophies, view friends' activity (such as recorded or live-streamed gameplay), and access all the latest news.

I caught up with Yoshida immediately after the show, and asked him to expand on exactly what gamers can expect from PlayStation App later this year.

"It's an application that anyone can download for free on iOS and Android devices," he explained.

"There are a variety of things you can do with it. You can connect to your PlayStation profile and send messages - even voice messages - to friends between...
