300w ago - PlayStation Store Senior Manager Grace Chen has announced news today that PlayStation Network is extending its Video Delivery Service to the PSP console, as follows:

Beginning today, you can download standard definition movies and tv shows directly to your PSP through PlayStation Network video delivery service.

You can still transfer programs to your PSP via the PS3 or from your PC via Media Go. But now, by accessing the video store directly on your PSP, it's easier than ever to take your favorite entertainment with you on the go.

We're also excited to release a variety of shows from partners such as Showtime Networks, Starz, G4 & E!, Summit Entertainment, The Weinstein Company, HDnet & Magnolia Pictures, Anime Network, Media Blasters, Right Stuf's Nozomi Entertainment, Starz Media's Manga Entertainment, Toei Animation, Viz Media, WEP, UFC, TNA and Video Action Sports - increasing PlayStation Store's library to more than 1900 movies and 9400 TV episodes.

So check out the 9000 hours of new programming... on your PS3 or your PSP!

Redbox Expands Into Video Games

Redbox Expands Into Video Games 200°
300w ago - Redbox, the automated DVD rental kiosk company, has announced that they have hired their first "senior level videogames executive," and plan to expand into video game rentals this summer.

"Our customers and retail partners have been really clamoring for video games, and Redbox is responding," added Mark Achler, Redbox's new VP of video games.

"We are very actively engaged in putting out a video game offering. There are changing demographics, where we see the casual market continuing to open as more women become involved."

The tricky part now is pricing. Redbox currently offers $1-a-night pricing for its video rentals, but it is almost a guarantee that the same pricing will not be given to video games, which retail for much more than DVDs and Blu-rays.

Achler added that Redbox will offer two types of kiosks; one with only video games and another with both games and movies. There will be titles for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii available.

"We think rental really has an opportunity to grow and lift the whole video game sector," noted Achler.
