Flash0 of PSP Emulator for PS Vita Dumped, Kernel / User Keys 550°
148w ago - Following up on the recent rumor of PSOne game emulation support for PS Vita, today PlayStation Vita hacker The_Zett has made available a decrypted Flash0 dump of the PSP emulator for PS Vita which includes the kernel / user keys.

From his Twitter feed, to quote:

An unknown VITA developer shared some interesting files, a little hint - PSP emulator and f0

From The Z on PlayStation Vita developer wololo's forum (linked above) on the release, to quote:

An unknown Vita developer has shared an interesting link some hours ago, which contains a full dump of the flash0 of the vita psp emulator - Including the kermit modules and the psvita kernel keys!

This dump can lead some professional Vita developers to kernel access, which will give us the ability to play nearly every homebrew. Backup launcher could be possible as well, but for these ones a high rank developer would be needed for programming it.

The developer says that he shared the files because...

PS Vita HBL (VHBL r148) for Super Collapse 3 is Now Available

PS Vita HBL (VHBL r148) for Super Collapse 3 is Now Available 1000°
149w ago - As a follow-up to his previous announcement, today PlayStation Vita hacker wololo has made available VHBL r148 for Super Collapse 3 which supports up to PS Vita Firmware 1.67.

From his blog, to quote: Less than 24hours after our public announcement of the existence of a vulnerability in the PSP game "Super Collapse 3″, Sony pulled out the game from their store, like they did for Motorstorm and Everybody's Tennis before.

Now comes the stressful moment for me: releasing the VHBL files publicly, and cross fingers that it works correctly on everybody's Vita.

It is worth mentioning that, as for our previous releases, members of the /talk forums knew about the game's name up to one week in advance, which gave most of them enough time to get the game without any issue.

I want once again to thank the community for being able to keep the secret, although it didn't go without issues. Way too many people talked about the release publicly on our forums,...

Video: PS Vita Hello World on 1.67 Demo, VHBL Update Incoming

Video: PS Vita Hello World on 1.67 Demo, VHBL Update Incoming 1000°
151w ago - Following up on Sony's PS Vita Firmware Update v1.67, this weekend PlayStation Vita hacker wololo has announced news of a new Hello World on PS Vita 1.67 alongside details of a VHBL update with a demonstration video below.

To quote: Hope you didn’t wait too long since our last VHBL release a bit more than 2 weeks ago… This is a new PSP user mode exploit by thecobra (also discovered a while ago by WosRet), which I confirmed runs on a PS Vita with Firmware 1.67. Unlike Motorstorm and Everybody’s Tennis, this game is available in the US store as well as some other countries (details to come). Check the video and details below.

Thecobra already ported VHBL to this exploit, and we already have something running, that just needs a few tweaks here and there before being released. So far I didn’t see anything that would prevent HBL from running on Vita 1.67, but that will need to be fully confirmed in the days to come.

The name of the exploited game is obviously kept a secret until the public announcement, and if you don’t want to miss the release, remember that history repeats itself. Sony will most likely remove the game within hours following...

Court Sides with Sony on PSN Terms, LulzSec Hacker Pleads Guilty

Court Sides with Sony on PSN Terms, LulzSec Hacker Pleads Guilty 350°
152w ago - Recently a Northern California district court sided with Sony (PDF) on their TOS change requiring disputes to be resolved through arbitration, while LulzSec hacker Cody Kretsinger pleaded guilty to one count each of conspiracy and unauthorized impairment of a protected computer.

To quote from TechDirt.com (linked above): "Some folks were not at all happy about this and sought to file a class action lawsuit against Sony for the change -- but that lawsuit has been (pretty quickly) rejected by the court, suggesting that the main guy suing failed to show evidence of any harm.

In an interesting move, the court found that the fact that you lost access to the network if you didn't agree to the new terms isn't evidence of any harm, but rather a choice."

Also from TheVerge.com on the LulzSec Sony Pictures Entertainment hacking last year,...

PS Vita Homebrew Preparer v0.1 by SiLENTGame is Released 200°
153w ago - Shortly following wololo's public disclosure of the Everybody's Tennis vulnerability for PSP on PlayStation Vita, developer SiLENTGame has released PS Vita Homebrew Preparer version 0.1 with details below followed by a bugfix update.

Download: PS Vita Homebrew Preparer v0.1 / PS Vita Homebrew Preparer v0.1 (Mirror) / PS Vita Homebrew Preparer v0.2 (fixes compression bug when creating install.zip) / PS Vita Homebrew Preparer v0.2 (Mirror) / PS Vita Homebrew Preparer v0.2 (Mirror #2)

To quote: The preparing process to run the games with VHBL is a bit annoying so I decided to code a little tool which will do this task for you or rather a big part of this task.

I called this program "PS Vita Homebrew Preparer". Here is a screenshot of it.

It decompress the PSP homebrew game for you and compress it again with some saves included...
