Projectors: The Future of Big Time Gaming 50°
February 5, 2009 // 8:28 pm - Gamers, if you have never had the experience of playing video games on a projector screen, you are missing out. Up until just a few days ago I was untrained in such picture perfection as well.

But after borrowing a projector from a friend at church to use for the Super Bowl, I could not help but hook up the Xbox as well. Using a VGA cable hooked to a Dell DLP projector that is a few years old has made Left 4 Dead an insane game to play.

That is without the over the Internet multiplayer ability.... but relax, I was playing co-op with a buddy. Just imagine split screening...

Review: PSM3 Gives Street Fighter IV a 95: Beat-em-ups Future! 50°
January 14, 2009 // 5:22 am - GamesRadar's sister mag PSM3 UK has printed their review of Street Fighter IV, and based on their review it fits the bill as defining the past and future of beat-em-ups!

PSM3 scored it a 95, and concluded that Capcom has given Street Fighter back to the people where it belongs.

To quote: With SFIV, Capcom have defined what it is to be a fighting game in the twenty-first century just like they did in the twentieth.

That meant dumping the missteps taken by Street Fighter III, and drawing from the very best moments of the series - the accessibility of Street...

December 16, 2008 // 9:26 pm - Sony has suggested that it's recently released PlayStation Home will be present on future platforms, although right now the team is just focused on making the service as good as possible.

To quote: In an interview with CVG, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) Home service manager Dan Hill answers that question, stating that Home's potential is almost limitless and Sony sees it having a very long life.

The Future of Console Video Games? 250°
November 28, 2008 // 9:21 pm - Andrew Weymes (aka MrWeymes) says Nintendo obviously went in another direction, deviating from what gamers expect from a next generation console.

I'm sure most gamers assumed that every 5 or 6 years, we would get an upgrade of our current console with a slightly reworked controller, better graphics, and more features such as online capabilities, and Blu Ray.

Sony, and Microsoft knew what was expected of them, and delivered. I don't think that many people thought that the Nintendo "Revolution" (as was the Wii's code name) wouldn't have a standard controller, but...

November 3, 2008 // 7:06 pm - Speaking in a recent interview, Sony Computer Entertainment UK managing director Ray Maguire has suggested that future multi-platform titles from third-parties will be led on PS3 and will have to be downgraded for systems with weaker processors.

Discussing the topic of third-party publisher support on the PS3, Maguire said: "I think we now have an install base which is big enough for any third party to want to develop for.

Now the decision making part of development is which do you lead your...

Minefield: The Really Fast Future of Mozilla's Firefox 50°
October 29, 2008 // 9:34 pm - If you are using Firefox 3 (or even Chrome) you should consider taking a look at Mozilla's Minefield.

This browser (alpha version yet, but stable) would give a new meaning to "fast browsing experience"... Some Firefox extensions aren't supported, but riding the fastest javascript engine on the planet definitely worth a try.

Download: Mozilla Minefield

Minefield's install won't affect your Firefox, so there's no risk trying it. It's fast. Really. And I'm loving it.

Svensson: Trophy Support Planned for Future Capcom PS3 Titles 50°
October 27, 2008 // 11:21 pm - Capcom's Christian Svensson has stated that PlayStatiopn 3 trophies are unlikely to be added to current games released due to the cost.

However, according to him Capcom is planning trophy support for future titles.

To quote Sven: There are a few titles released by our US group that we'd like to go back and have trophy support added to, but the bids to do so were cost prohibitive (they'd never make it through a green light process if those costs stand). We've not entirely given up yet though, so you may still see something further down the line.

So we could have some seriously strong interaction between the two systems - processor sharing, here we come baby!
