Nintendo Wii Hack Discovered for 4GB SD (non-SDHC) Cards 100°
October 13, 2008 // 6:42 pm - Knoxximus has found a method which allows 4GB SD cards (non-SDHC) to be fully utilized as a Wii storage card.

To quote: For the people who DON'T LIKE TO READ, THIS SOLUTION ALLOWS YOU TO USE AN OTHERWISE UNSUPPORTED SIZE SD CARD (4GB) TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL AND STILL HAVE VERY DECENT TRANSFER SPEEDS!

Okay! Now we all know that Nintendo's official line is that cards larger than 2GB will not work on the Wii...and for the most part this is true. However...what about a 4GB SD (NOT SDHC) card that PRETENDS it's a 2GB, but then over time can be slowly expanded to meet...

Twilight Hack Protection Thwarted, Fix Expected Soon 50°
June 19, 2008 // 2:30 pm - Shortly after Nintendo launched a new Wii firmware update that blocks users from running the homebrew-enabling Twilight Hack, folks immediately began work on investigating the update, uncovering a bug that allows them to bypass Nintendo's savedata check and run the hack without issue.

According to Bushing, Nintendo wrote a set of functions that specifically checks savedata pertaining to Zelda, nothing else. Seems rather foolish, considering that other Wii titles could very well have a similar save exploit.

The code in question went under extensive testing for nearly...

Wii Firmware 3.3 Released, Renders Twilight Hack Useless 50°
June 16, 2008 // 11:24 pm - It was inevitable... Reports are coming in that the latest Wii firmware update from Nintendo deletes and prevents edited save game files from being loaded via SD Card.

Essentially, this means that the homebrew enabling Twilight Hack, which comes in the form of a modified save file for non-modified Wii consoles, will no longer function if system menu 3.3 is installed.

According to folks who have already updated, the custom made Homebrew Channel is still accessible if you have it installed prior to upgrading to the new firmware, which is somewhat of a relief.

New X-Rated Mod discovered in GTA IV?! 300°
May 3, 2008 // 2:18 pm - Those clever hackers have done it again! Hacker group VladsBoys' analysis of the pirated copy of GTA IV for the 360 (leaked days before retail release) has reeled in a big one. The cyber-sleuths knew they were on the trail of something big and yes, you guessed it, they found another never-intended-for-retail-consumption chunk of code in a GTA game.

What the hackers found seems to be an abandoned mission that Rockstar at some point intended on including in the game. We have no idea how far into the process this mission got before it was pulled, but we're pretty sure they knew what they...

Sony Asks: Why Do You Hack Your PSP? 300°
April 9, 2008 // 7:49 pm - The engineers at Sony can't be too thrilled with fighting the constant battle against PSP hackers, issuing firmware updates that "strengthen security" in a futile attempt to curb piracy and homebrew applications.

Going by a recent survey commissioned by Sony Computer Entertainment, passed on to us by a reader who was asked to take part, the company seems to be looking into the reasons why PSP owners are opening up their portables.

Sony reps call the survey a part of "ongoing PSP consumer research", attempting to learn more about the size of the PSP hacking population...

Download: Wii Twilight Hack v0.1 Alpha 1
