Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is Grinding Onto PSN August 28th

50°
133w ago - Robomodo President Josh Tsui has announced today that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is grinding onto PSN this August 28th.

To quote: Finally, we can talk about Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD for PS3.

We are so grateful for everyone's patience on this, and we want to make sure you all know that everyone at Robomodo and Activision has been busting their butts to get it out there.

Now we can safely announce that after a lot of hard work, sweating and some crying (just a little), the game will be released August 28th on PSN in North America.

Game development is probably the hardest form of entertainment to put together, and making sure a game plays well across different machines is way tougher than anyone can imagine.

If there was a "Make PS3" button, we would've been tempted to hit that a long time ago. But we wanted to take the time to fix a few things and make sure that the PS3 experience is everything it can be.

The wait has been excruciating for us. We know that the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series has historically been very tightly tied to PlayStation consoles. For me, it was a key game in my career. In 1999 I had just left my first game development job, so I and a few others broke off and started a new studio.

The day we left, we were at...

Video: Persona 4 Arena Bursting Onto PlayStation 3 Today

300°
133w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced alongside a video trailer that Persona 4 Arena is bursting onto PlayStation 3 today!

To quote: Persona 4 Arena, the freakishly gifted fighting progeny of ATLUS (makers of Persona and other fine JRPGs) and Arc System Works (makers of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue), is out now in North America for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system.

What exactly do you get when you marry Persona and its rich I-want-to-go-to-there universe of characters and mythology and some masterful fighting game design?

Based on the fact that it's Japan's top arcade fighting game, Japan's bestselling conventional console fighting game of the past four years, and one of North America's most anticipated fighting games in recent memory, it would seem you get one heck of a mix of gaming DNA. It probably has a perfect SAT score and everything.

With a unique fighting engine that deftly incorporates the titular Personas and their breathtaking special powers; a roster of thirteen intricately balanced fighters, a majority of whom hail from the acclaimed Persona 4 (and a few from the equally beloved Persona 3); expertly rendered character sprites and backgrounds; a smorgasbord of features, modes, and content...

Outlaws Of The Lost Dynasty Fights Onto PlayStation Network

200°
145w ago - MonkeyPaw Games Marketing Manager Ray Almeda has announced today that Outlaws Of The Lost Dynasty is fighting it's way onto PlayStation Network with details below.

To quote: The Import section is now over a month old. Thanks for tuning in and showing interest!

So far, we've built up the shooter portfolio with some old-school twitchers. Now we're going to switch gears and present a great fighter from Land of the Rising Yen.

Our release this week will be Arcade Hits: Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty, a classic fighter from the era of when beat'em-ups ruled the consoles. It had progressive and pioneering elements that many future fighters mimicked.

And in some aspects, it exceeded what the legendary games of the fighter class established. This was Data East's second major attempt at a fighting game series, after Fighters History.

The game is set in the world of the ancient novel Water Margin, also known as the Legend of 108 Outlaws. In Japanese, the novel is translated as Suikoden - and this is a fighting game in that same universe. The story surrounds 12 of the 108 outlaws, testing their skills in Liangshan Marsh (where the novel takes place) as the Gods of War judge from the heavens.

We hope you'll like this fighter as it really brings back...

Video: Touch My Katamari Rolls Onto PlayStation Vita Today

157w ago - Namco Bandai Games Community Manager Rich Bantegui has announced that Touch My Katamari rolls onto PlayStation Vita today complete with a video trailer below!

To quote: Ladies, gentlemen, princes, and cousins - How are you enjoying the PS Vita launch today? Those of you that have been following our crew over here at Namco Bandai Games know that we're out in full force on PS Vita, and today we've set forth on an all-new adventure with The King of All Cosmos himself.

You can see what the critics are saying in the launch trailer below, but we think we want to hear what YOU have to think? Have you picked it up yet? Have you picked up EVERYTHING yet? Let us know, we want to hear from you!

You see, The King and @FilthieRich go way back to the PS2 days. It was there when I first met The King, much like many of you. We've had plenty of adventures together over the years, but we've never quite had a handheld frolic across the land of candy, crayons, robots, and cephalopods quite like this one.

Definitely not one with two analog sticks... and definitely not one that lets you stretch and squeeze the Katamari for crazy...

Video: Hungry Giraffe Eats Its Way Onto PlayStation Network

100°
160w ago - Laughing Jackal Community Manager Ross Brierley has shared a video preview today announcing that Hungry Giraffe is eating its way onto PlayStation Network tomorrow.

To quote: I'm here to talk to you about our latest PlayStation minis game, Hungry Giraffe, which will be released tomorrow, exclusively and FREE for PlayStation Plus users.

Hungry Giraffe will then go on general release on the 15th of February for just £2.49/€3.49.

Hungry Giraffe is our first foray into the endless climbing genre and is based on the experiences* of one particular giraffe who - bored of the foliage of the acacia tree - decided to stretch out his neck to reach the burgers floating in the sky.  Using the calories from the burgers to make his neck even longer, he moved from burger to french fries, taco to sandwich, on a desperate quest to stuff his face.

Of course our giraffe friend had to be wary of several hazards floating in the sky. After all, an anvil to the head seldom does anyone any good and as for poison, well, would you want clean up when a 1200 kg giraffe loses its lunch?  Unprescribed drugs are also best avoided, as human medicine tends to have strange hallucinogenic properties when taken by giraffes.
