Video: Street Fighter x Tekken PS3 Gameplay Trailer Arrives

350°
202w ago - Today SCEE's James Gallagher has shared a new Street Fighter x Tekken gameplay trailer and details.

To quote: At Captivate last week, Capcom unveiled the first batch of playable characters in Street Fighter X Tekken: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile and Abel from Street Fighter and Kazuya, Nina Williams, King, Marduk and Bob from Tekken.

Afterwords, Producer Yoshinori Ono spoke how Street Fighter X Tekken came to be.

In his words... When we [Capcom] took that 10 year break between releasing Street Fighter games, I feel that Tekken diligently stoked the fighting game campfire and kept people interested. With Street Fighter IV we tossed kerosene on that fire and got fans really excited about fighting games again.

I was having dinner with the Tekken director [Katsuhiro] Harada-san shortly after Street Fighter IV came out and we got talking about how we could keep that campfire burning. We were half-joking when we first conceived this collaboration, but it did seem like a great idea to both of us and pretty soon we were both saying, 'you go back to your office and I'll go back to mine... let's synchronise watches and convince everyone that we...

50°
228w ago - SCEE Home Community Lead Alex Weekes has shared news of early Halloween treats and Street Fighter 4 alternates in PlayStation Home this week, as follows:

Tis the month to be trick or treated, and Lockwood's getting a head start this week releasing a range of new Halloween items. Those looking for their Halloween costume should drop into the Lockwood store and check out the two variations of skeleton suit.

Choose from the Eerie Bones suit or the Glow Bones suit, depending on your taste. Also available from Lockwood this week is the perfect item to cook up something special: The Cauldron of the Sunless Kingdom. Mix ingredients to create special effects, and with the right mix the Cauldron may reward you.

For the Street Fighter 4 fans who have been waiting patiently for the alternate costumes, we have good news today. The alternate costumes will release tomorrow, completing the collection of Street Fighter 4 content for Europe. (Note: Abel alternate will not be released for technical reasons.)

Looking for something a bit different? Alter Ego will be taking delivery of a new range of costumes and outfits. Those who yearn for the 8-bit halcyon days of gaming should check out the new 8-bit costumes (2 male, 1 female). Also available are the Pencil Sketch body suits for both...

400°
240w ago - This weekend we have one more debut trailer video from Comic-Con 2010, which showcases Street Fighter X Tekken for the PS3 entertainment system.

The Street Fighter X Tekken video comes courtesy of CapcomUnityVideos with the announcement by Capcom's Yoshinori Ono at Comic Con 2010.

To quote: "Street Fighter X Tekken will be running on Street Fighter IV's engine, which means Tekken will stray from its 3D roots and into new gameplay territory.

Whether or not the transition is a smooth one remains to be seen, but some of the gameplay videos that are leaking onto the net look pretty good so far."

New Super Street Fighter IV Release for PS3 Announced!

300°
252w ago - Today Producer Yoshinori Ono has officially announced a new Super Street Fighter IV release for Sony's PS3 entertainment system!

To quote: I've listened to PlayStation users voice their opinions for the past 10 years. They've said, "We're waiting for the next numbered sequel to Street Fighter!"

I have to apologize that it took Capcom almost a decade to make the decision... but, I really appreciate your continuous support, and I'm now armed with weapons and armor to fight as Capcom's voice in this tough global market.

It is as if I'm fighting as King Arthur from Ghosts 'n Goblins!

The original Street Fighter IV was released in February 2009. Before that, it has been about 15 years since the SFII series, and 10 years since the SFIII series.

I strongly feel that SFIV wouldn't have happened without your support. I'm glad that Street Fighter is now back, and I'd like to say "thank you" to all of you.

And now SFIV is fully renewed and, to reinforce the upgrades, we've added...

Sony and Capcom Host Super Street Fighter IV Event This Friday

200°
254w ago - Today Community Senior Manager Seth Killian has announced news of a Super Street Fighter IV event this Friday hosted by Sony in conjunction with Capcom.

To quote: For those who don't know, we call these things "Fight Clubs" and the concept is pretty simple.

We find an underground location (sometimes literally underground, sometimes just an abandoned warehouse, sometimes a sneaker shop, but you get the idea), and drop a bunch of Street Fighter games in there, then let people throw down in arcade-style, face-to-face combat.

We spice it up with some totally exclusive shirt giveaways, exclusive artwork and giftbags, and maybe... just maybe, some extra epic events.

The party is going down this Friday, April 23rd, from 8pm to midnight, in Los Angeles, CA (in the Silver Lake neighborhood).

We'll post the exact address on Thursday, so stay tuned, but here's a little taste...
