Customized 'Homicide' PS3 Case Mod is Bloody Awesome 350°
February 16, 2009 // 9:09 pm - This brutal PS3 Mod is entitled 'Homicide' and rightly so, for it has blood stains all over its clean white cover and simply looks like it was a witness to some awfully ruthless crime.

To quote: It is a wonderful addition to all the different PS3 Mods we have seen before and bloody awesome.

The creative mod for the PlayStation 3 was created by Jerry Thampan, and he goes on to explain its development: ps3 that i customized. airbrushed white, blood done w/ red paint put into a spoon and drawn in, then clear coated twice...

GameStop Exec Defends Used Game Sales & Somewhat Succeeds 250°
January 18, 2009 // 3:05 am - In a recent interview with Gamasutra, GameStop Chief Marketing Officer Mike Hogan tried to defend his company's stance on the used game market by comparing it to the used car market.

He argued that without trade money from used cars, the owners wouldn't be able to afford a new car. Although some people will try to flaw his argument by noting that games aren't that expensive in relation to people's disposable income.

To quote: Starting his argument, he compared the games industry to the car...

PlayStation 3 XMB Plus Open Source Equals Awesomeness 350°
December 7, 2008 // 5:10 am - The PlayStation 3 can probably be considered one of the most customizable consoles on the market. With the ability to upgrade you HDD, use external USB devices, Bluetooth peripherals, install open source operating systems (Linux/Unix) and freely customize your own XMB theme, the PS3 gives users a freedom of choice that was never previously established in console gaming until this generation.

Not to say that it's really "open" in the sense where programmers, like myself, don't really have the ability to access any hardware acceleration in the RSX because of restrictions by...

Some LittleBigPlanet Custom Levels Being Deleted due to EULA 200°
November 10, 2008 // 11:37 pm - Recently user Rocktave posted on LittleBigWorkshop: "My level was moderated (read; deleted) and now I can't re-publish. There was absolutely nothing offensive whatsoever in the level at all and I was given no explanation as to why they moderated it or why they won't even let me republish, even after making changes."

Although not surprising to say the least, Media Molecule Dev Sam_Protagonist replied as follows: "We're reviewing the moderating system currently to provide better feedback on why levels are moderated.

Primarily, any level that is reported using...

Some PlayStation 3 Service Mode Details! 800°
November 2, 2008 // 11:41 pm - Over the months there has been a lot of inaccurate information circulating in regards to how exactly the PlayStation 3's Service Mode works, and as promised in our previous Dev updates here are some of the facts to help separate the rumors and speculation.

It is a fairly simple process as follows.. For starters, the PS3 is powered off, and a special USB dongle, known as the Jig, is connected. The PS3 is then turned on, and then off, once it has detected the Jig.

After this occurs, the PS3 is then turned back on, into "Service" Mode. From here, the PS3 is re-flashed using...

Miyamoto: Something was Missing from Last Zelda Game 200°
October 29, 2008 // 8:55 pm - Even though Twilight Princess was in development for years, in some ways, fans were disappointed. The game, while not even close to being a bad game, simply fell short of some expectations.

In a way, Shigeru Miyamoto feels the same way in that he feels as though "there was something missing" from the experience.

To quote: "That's something that I talk to the members of my development team about on a regular basis. What I've been saying to our development teams recently is that "Twilight Princess" was not a bad game, by any means. But, still, it felt...
