Koller Amazed at PS Home Virtual Sales, Reality TV is Hitting PSN 50°
December 16, 2009 // 10:10 pm - Today TheRegister.co.uk (linked above) reports that Sony Computer Entertainment's John Koller admitted he is amazed by PlayStation Home virtual goods sales and also hinted that reality TV is coming to PSN.

PSPGo Already Getting UnOfficial Price Cut in UK, Sales Increase 300°
October 5, 2009 // 10:40 pm - It's only been a few days since the release of the PSPGo and the console is already getting an unofficial price cut in the UK.

Numerous reports indicate that a number of retailers have already slashed the price of the system, as follows:

UK retailers have already started dropping the price of PSPgo, with Amazon, Play, GAME and HMV now selling the machine for £199.99.

It was £224.99 when it launched last week.

SCEE said earlier today that PSP hardware sales have risen since PSPgo released on October 1st.

PlayStation 3 Sales Jump Over 1000% on PS3 Slim Release 550°
September 7, 2009 // 4:13 pm - Chart-Track has told GamesIndustry.biz (linked above) that sales of the PlayStation 3 have jumped over 999% in the past week, shifting eleven times the number of units sold the prior week.

As Sony introduced the new, slimmer SKU, and although Chart-Track does not reveal actual sales numbers, Dorian Bloch, director of the firm called the growth "a huge increase".

To quote: "The uplift on week 36 on week 35 is plus 999 per cent," revealed Bloch. "We don't give out the hardware numbers, but never-the-less it's a very large increase."

Nintendo Hires Anti-piracy Guru to Combat R4 Card Sales 300°
August 29, 2009 // 4:32 pm - Nintendo has hired anti-piracy guru Neil Boyd from Warner Bros. in a move to keep the Nintendo DS R4 Card from being sold at both online and offline retailers.

Boyd claims Nintendo has no problem in hurting companies who still sell flash carts for the DS console, to quote:

SCEA Appoints Timothy Bender as Senior VP of Sales 50°
August 24, 2009 // 7:55 pm - Sony Computer Entertainment America has appointed former Livescribe executive Timothy Bender as senior vice president of sales.

Reporting directly to SCEA president and CEO Jack Tretton, Bender will be charged with overseeing sales and merchandising initiatives across all PlayStation platforms in the US.

His appointment comes as Sony prepares to release new iterations of its home and portable gaming systems in the form of the PS3 Slim and PSP Go, and the company is gearing up for what Tretton referred to as one its "most aggressive" Christmas seasons.

Sales Ad Reveals XBox 360 Elite Drops to $299 on September 1st 700°
