GameStop to Sell Digital Video Game Content Downloads 200°
November 14, 2009 // 5:02 am - Retailer GameStop is set to begin selling digital video game content downloads as part of a new service.

The idea behind this is that a GameStop shopper could learn about a new level for their favorite game, purchase it and then immediately play it when they get home.

October 3, 2009 // 8:40 pm - Hi guys, I can't stress it enough how excited I am to start my own business. Finally - I mean I bought everything I need and have full copyrights + patents.

Anyways - Burn2u (linked above) is very simple and a great program for the people with slow Internet connections, or just don't want to waste space on their computer.

PSP Video Downloads Direct from PSN go Live in Japan 50°
July 22, 2009 // 11:22 pm - We've known since E3 in June that Sony would open up the PlayStation Network for direct video downloads over WiFi to the PSP - no PC or PS3 required.

Now it's live, in Japan anyway. At the moment, there are about 90 PSN video titles to choose from at the moment including anime episodes at „200 (about $2) per or animated movies for „500 ($5.30) in standard definition or „600 ($6.40) for HD.

PSP downloaded videos can be transferred to the PS3 and some content can be rented for 72-hours at a pop. No word on US or European launches but really, how much longer could it...

GameStop Study Claims Game Downloads Not Viable Until 2014 400°
June 20, 2009 // 9:30 pm - Retailer GameStop has claimed that digital game downloads will not really take-off until 2014.

Their study also concludes that gamers are only willing to spend $39 per downloadable game.

To quote: In what it claims is the "most thorough study [of its variety] to date," videogame retailer GameStop has found that digital downloads - like those found on Steam, Impulse, Xbox Live Arcade and other such services - won't be making any real waves until 2014. Er, what?

Rumor: Music Downloads Coming to Sony's PlayStation Network? 100°

The word from CNET is that Sony has been talking to some big recording labels. This is of course about placing music on the PlayStation Network for download.

November 29, 2008 // 10:20 pm - It has been confirmed that the New Xbox Experience increases the active downloads queue from six entries to a massive fourty.
