Video: Time Machine: Rogue Pilot for PlayStation Network

50°
191w ago - Today International Affairs Manager Lucy Khatajaeva at Lesta Studio has posted up a video on Time Machine: Rogue Pilot for PlayStation Network which outlines details on the PSN title.

To quote: Today is the big day as we're releasing an official preview video for our upcoming PSN game Time Machine: Rogue Pilot!

The video reveals some gameplay details and is supposed to help you get some better understanding of what our game actually is and what it looks like.

But a new video is not enough, is it? That's why I'll reveal some more details and cover two big questions with this blog post: what this game is and what it is not.

What Time Machine: Rogue Pilot IS

Time Machine: Rogue Pilot is a Match3/hidden-object game with a number of innovative features, including unique mechanics of repainting tiles instead of replacing them with each other. I know this sounds simple, but it helps bring a fresh feel to the classical match3 genre.

For example, the Mood-o-meter. Sounds weird, huh? The Mood-o-meter shows how your character feels. The better you play, and the more bonuses you activate, the faster your character's mood increases. Once the Mood-o-meter is full, you get a Superbonus that destroys...

Video: Gatling Gears is Now Available on PlayStation Network

50°
191w ago - Vanguard Games Game Designer Nikki Kuppens has announced that Gatling Gears is now available on PlayStation Network and shared a video trailer for the PSN title.

To quote: I'm here to introduce our newest game, Gatling Gears, which is available on PSN right now! Gatling Gears is an intense twin-stick shooter in which you control a heavily armed mech.

We call them "walkers" and they're a very iconic part of Mistbound, the world you will travel through in Gatling Gears. As veteran walker pilot Max Brawley, you're going to have to put an end to the Empire's destructive campaign for Mistbound's valuable resources.

To do that, you will have to master the two basic principles of walker operation: shooting and dodging. You'll be flooded with waves and waves of enemies, so using your weapons effectively is key to your survival.

The Gatling gun is useful against weaker enemies, but has a limited range. A cannon shell does more damage, but is harder to aim. Grenades can be carefully targeted and do a lot of damage, but will take a while to reach their target. If things get out of hand (and they will!) detonating your Spark Bomb will send an electrified shock wave across the entire screen.

HandCircus on Okabu: The PlayStation Network Physics Toybox

50°
192w ago - HandCircus founder Simon Oliver has revealed more details on Okabu: The PSN Physics Toybox today which will be heading to PlayStation Network soon.

To quote: HandCircus is a really small team - there are only five of us at the studio! In addition to myself, we have Mikko and Matt handling art needs, Luke spearheading programming and Shane tackling level design. We've also been working with Resonate Music, who have been crafting Okabu's original, authentic African-inspired soundtrack.

Their studio has been filled to the rafters with all manner of exotic instruments like Marimbas, Kalimbas, Vibraphones as well as some extremely talented vocalists.

Always-on Co-op

Co-op is at the core of the game. Even single player is a co-op experience because it allows you to swap between Kumulo and Nimbe (and they hero that they may be carrying) at any time.

Much of the game revolves around using the different skills of the heroes together - get Monkfish to pull open a door, then Picolo can lure a bull through and get it to take out a dastardly Dozabot. If there's two of you the game is even more fun, as each of you can take control of Kumulo or Nimbe.

Let's...

SCEA on Journey for PS3, Coming to PlayStation Network

50°
192w ago - SCEA Associate Producer Randall Lowe at Santa Monica Studio has shared some more details on Journey for PS3 today, which is coming to Sony's PlayStation Network.

To quote: Journey is our third exclusive game with SCEA's Santa Monica Studio for PS3 and PSN, and we're trying something new, something that we hope changes the way people think about online gaming.

As you may have heard, in Journey, players take on the role of travelers headed to a mysterious mountain in the distance. But unlike our previous two games, flow and Flower, Journey is presents our vision of what an online adventure can be.

As you explore Journey, you may cross paths with other travelers. You can to join and play with up to one other player at a time.

But what makes Journey different is that there are no online lobbies, no matchmaking, no PSN IDs, and no chat. You are the character, limited to the ways of communication of the character itself. Will you choose to travel together - or go your own way? What secrets lie in the mysterious, sand-covered ruins of this world?

We had a great time at E3 talking to all of the press that stopped by the Sony booth. And we couldn't be more proud after Journey...
