Some Easter PS3 Development Updates! 400°
March 24, 2008 // 7:14 pm - We have a few PS3 development updates for the new week, including some PS3 KeyVault Project and PS3 Flash news.

To start, resident PS3 Dev subdub has been a bit busy, so he has yet to put the finishing touches on our PS3 KeyVault Server Application. In his absence, both ggparallel and mainman have picked up the slack, and are finishing up the server application. While they are finishing up the app, they are also optimizing the code so it is more versatile as it can auto-update clients, and it will also be able to handle more...

March 9, 2008 // 11:23 pm - While we await the start of our PS3 KeyVault Project for retail PS3 consoles, below is a screenshot of something else I have been tinkering with recently via Debug.

As hinted by PS3News already HERE, it is a Backup Launcher for a PS3 Development Unit as shown. At the moment it it still pre-Alpha and very incomplete, however it allows:

February 21, 2008 // 3:48 pm - We at PS3News got yet another great, although belated gift recently. Welcome the new PS3 Test to the family!

We received it the other day and since this is an actual TEST unit, versus a prototype (which is what I have), we decided to show off a few pictures below!

With the additional TEST unit, we now have (2) development PS3's to work with. It will help work progress much more efficiently as the resident PS3 Devs will be able to offload work onto the other unit now too.

In related news, we have been able to get additional retail back-ups running on the...

PlayStation Home feedback has led to look-and-feel changes 50°
January 30, 2008 // 5:31 pm - Feedback from users who were testing the PlayStation Home beta has led to key changes.

Changes include: it nows starts off in an outside space(rather then a closed room) with fully functional chess and draughts game tables, some entrance points to key content areas have been made more recognizable, the screening areas of the theater have all been moved downstairs because users said the 12 second walk to the top was too long.

Home is currently on track for a spring 2008 launch.

To quote: What had been an enclosed room with a large window showing a lush view...

PS3: Patches Ahoy! 500°
January 12, 2008 // 6:26 pm - Another brief update based on the yesterday's findings: the PS3 Flash is quite accessible as the majority of it is mounted inside the PS3 as a filesystem (think PSP), and is able to be read/written.

A picture is below for a peek at a partial filelist. As you can see there are quite a few sprx's. These are encrypted of course, however they function quite the same as their PSP counterparts. For the majority of the PS3 OS's functions, there is a sprx that is tasked to do the job.

For the big chunk of interesting news: Every single scene release ever released for PS3 will...
