Why Sony's E3 Conference Took Home the Crown This Year

Why Sony's E3 Conference Took Home the Crown This Year 100°
299w ago - Here's the deal: content is all that matters in this industry. Without the content, which means we're talking about software, all you have are three really big paperweights.

Granted, many more factors have come into play in the new generation, as systems like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are fully functional and massively capable multimedia devices. But at the end of the day, we own our systems so we can play the games we love, and as I've said many times before, Sony's software lineup greatly outstrips Microsoft's.

Yes, one can claim that with the announcement of a Metal Gear Solid for the 360 and Project Natal, that alone might top Sony's conference in terms of a "wow" factor.

But what are we really talking about here? The PS3 is getting Rising, too, and let's not forget that the PSP is also getting Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Furthermore, Sony's motion tech was every bit as impressive as Microsoft's in my eyes, and I'm not the type of guy that puts much stock in motion sensing.

The PSP Go! wasn't a huge announcement in my eyes, but it was big, and the exclusive lineup that continually pleasured our senses during Sony's conference was unmatched. I want Alan Wake as much as anyone and I buy every Halo they make (provided it's not a strategy game), but those...

Photo Sharing is Coming to Sony's PlayStation Home

Photo Sharing is Coming to Sony's PlayStation Home 100°
300w ago - Update: We experienced a minor glitch this morning with the Buzz space in PlayStation. We know what the issue is and we are working to resolve it as soon as possible. Please check back with the blog for an update on when it will go live.

Today PlayStation Home Community Manager CydoniaX has announced that Photo Sharing is coming to PlayStation Home, as follows:

Greetings, Homies. Fasten your seatbelts, because we have the most exciting news to hit PlayStation Home since Open Beta! We know you loyal Home fans have been asking for media sharing since the get-go, and we're very happy to tell you that the first stage is here!

Photo sharing, the first feature to support user-generated content, is finally coming to PlayStation Home! Starting today, Thursday, June 4th, you'll be able to purchase picture frames in the Mall, upload photos from your hard drive or select from a gallery of default pictures, and then display them in your personal apartments.

So if you've got photos from your latest game tournament that you want to share, all you have to do is upload them, choose the angle and size options for display, and then invite your friends back to your Home pad for your viewing party. Awesome!

But that's not all! As usual, we have more exciting content...

Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto is a Fan of Sony's PSP Go!

Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto is a Fan of Sony's PSP Go! 50°
300w ago - For those who didn't know, Shigeru Miyamoto is a Japanese game producer and designer who has been called the "father of modern video games" and "the Walt Disney of electronic gaming" for helping create the Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, Pikmin and F-Zero franchises and games such as Nintendogs and Wii Music.

Was someone expecting to see the man, Shigeru Miyamoto, in flesh and bones, playing a Sony PSP Go!?

Well, think again because HE was and HE is, in fact, a PSP fanboy. The Brazilian site called Games Sem Compromisso (linked above) has posted some nice exclusive pics of it.

See more on the related site. LoL!
