New Wii System Update available - Do NOT update! 350°
March 22, 2008 // 6:35 pm - Another Wii System Update is available today. While there was a new update made available on March 20th in preparation for WiiWare, there is no official word on what this latest update is for or contributes to the state of play.

With that being stated, according to the source linked above it appears the update patches the Trucha exploit. Therefore, it is recommended that you NOT perform this or any future update for the time being!

Nintendo Fights Piracy; Smash Bros. won't play on Modded Wii 300°
March 12, 2008 // 3:29 pm - According to reports, people are unable to play retail copies of Super Smash Bros. Brawl on modded consoles.

However, some have downloaded and burned a copy of the game on a black dual-layer DVD and found that this works fine. There is speculation that this is an attempt by Nintendo to fight piracy.

To quote: Nintendo has reported that some Nintendo Wii consoles will not read the dual-layer Super Smash Bros. Brawl due to the system having dust and dirt on the laser.

What they have yet to announce though is that they are also fighting piracy with the release...

Crystal Chronicles for NDS includes New Copy Protection Scheme 100°
March 11, 2008 // 6:06 pm - Square Enix's Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates, which shipped to North American retailers today for the Nintendo DS, includes a new copy protection scheme that attempts to discourage users from running an unauthorized copy of the game on certain DS flash cards.
