Confirmed: LittleBigPlanet IS region-free, worldwide content for all!

Confirmed: LittleBigPlanet IS region-free, worldwide content for all! 200°
341w ago - SCE has revealed that the producer of LittleBigPlanet wrongly told journalists that LittleBigPlanet will be region-locked, as previously reported.

Sam_Protagonist (SCE Development) just posted up "This is in fact not the case, and all shared levels in the game will be available worldwide."

To quote: Hi all, as many of you may have heard already in an interview at Leipzig the senior producer for LittleBigPlanet announced that the game is region locked.

This is in fact not the case, and all shared levels in the game will be available worldwide. The confusion arose out of regional differences in how moderation will work as there are different legal rules each region have to play by, and at one point this looked like it may require the game to be independent in each region - however this has been worked around and there will only be one region for the game.... a LittleBigRegion.

Apologies for any confusion over this issue, however I'm pretty sure you're happy with the result.

Yoshida is far from a newcomer. He's been with Sony for well over a decade, first serving as one of the key members in establishing the PlayStation brand, and has been working his way through the upper corporate ranks ever since.

Devil May Cry 4 Debuts Strong in Worldwide Charts

Devil May Cry 4 Debuts Strong in Worldwide Charts 50°
369w ago - This week's charts, with data taken from February 7th, 2008, show Devil May Cry 4 debuting high in North America and the UK, while Dairantou Smash Brothers X continues to top software sales in Japan.

Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded.

This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows:

Nintendo Wii
North America: 1. Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo), 3. Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party Bundle (Konami), 3. Endless Ocean (Nintendo), 4. Carnival Games (Global Star), 5. Game Party (Midway).

Japan: 1. Dairantou Smash Brothers X (Nintendo), 2. Wii Fit (Nintendo), 3. Family Ski (Namco), 4. Wii Sports (Nintendo), 5. Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo).

UK: 1. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Sega), 2. PDC World Championship Darts 2008 (Oxygen), 3. Wii Play (Nintendo), 4. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 (EA Sports), 5. Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo).

As lack of stock pushes last week's top seller Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock out of North American chart range, Super Mario Galaxy and Dance Dance Revolution:...
