18w ago - Sony Product Planning & Software Innovation Director Scott McCarthy shared a new video today announcing that their major PS4 System Software Update v2.0 will be available tomorrow!

Below are the details, to quote: PS4's system software v2.00, codenamed Masamune, is making its arrival tomorrow and we can't wait for you to check out all the new enhancements it'll bring to your PS4.

This update adds unique, forward-looking features like Share Play, and addresses some of the most highly requested features from the community including YouTube integration, USB music player, ability to find players you may know, sorting options for PS4′s game library, and themes that change the look of your home screen. This is the biggest update we've delivered to date for PS4.

To quote: You may already know that PS4's upcoming system software 2.00, codenamed Masamune, adds some big features including Share Play, YouTube support, and Themes - but the updates don't end there.

I have personally stated in past blog posts that we listen to our fans. PlayStation has heard gamers when they say they want more ways to find friends to play with, and more ways to personalize their PS4.

With this update, we've added a Players You May Know tile, the ability to listen to your music while gaming, the option to change the look of your PS4 experience, and easier ways to sort and filter your library of content on PS4.

Killzone Mercenary Update: PS TV Support and More Detailed

20w ago - Guerilla Cambridge Tech Director Matt Porter shared a Killzone Mercenary update today announcing PS TV support and more as detailed below.

To quote: When PlayStation TV was first announced, we were super excited at the idea of having Killzone Mercenary running on a big TV screen.

So, we went to work on making that idea happen, and are pleased to announce we can finally share the results. Killzone Mercenary update 1.11 is now available across all regions, bringing full support for the PlayStation TV system to Mercenary.

The game does indeed look fantastic on the big screen, and the DualShock controls bring a new feel to the game's mechanics. We've reworked all the touch mechanics to maximize the experience when played with those controls.

Knowing that PS Vita players will play directly with PlayStation TV players online, we've worked hard to ensure the game is balanced for both parties, without either one having a competitive advantage.

PS4 ShareFactory 1.03 Update is Live, Adds New Theme and Features

20w ago - Following up on their previous update, today Sony has put PS4 ShareFactory 1.03 Update live, which adds a new PlayStation 4 theme and features as detailed below.

To quote: "Sony Computer Entertainment just made version 1.03 of the video editing software for PS4 ShareFactory available for download across the PSN. The update weighs 264 Mb.

Senior Producer Stuart Platt shared the patch notes:

Version 1.03

  • Added a new "Horror" Theme
  • Support for High Quality microphones
  • Audio playback and export quality improvements
  • Ability to set transition volume
  • Ability to adjust filter effects
  • 1 new filter effect
  • Auto-trim clips if they do not fit into the project timeline
  • Various bug fixes and ubability improvements

Platt also mentioned a last minute change that wasn’t included in the changelog:
