Sony Boss Reveals Developers Will Help Build Next PlayStation 550°
July 6, 2010 // 3:59 pm - In an interview with Develop-Online.net (linked above), SCE studio boss Shuhei Yoshida revealed that developers will be more integrated into their future hardware plans.

To quote: "So he wanted developers in meetings at the very beginning of concepting new hardware, and he demanded SCE people talk to us (developers)."

And when asked whether this change in philosophy will be applied to future PlayStation hardware, Yoshida replied: "Yes, we are undergoing many activities that we haven't yet been talking about in public. Some future platform related activities."...

Nintendo DS 2 Dev Kits with Motion-sensing Hit Developers 350°
February 17, 2010 // 9:20 pm - Select developers in Japan, including The Pokemon Company, have already received Nintendo DS 2 Dev Kits complete with motion-sensing capability from Nintendo.

According to CVG.com, while better graphics and sound for the new platform is no surprise, the real standout feature is the supposed addition of a tilt motion sensor - similar to that of an iPhone.

PS3 Motion Controller to be at Game Developers Conference 2010 400°
February 17, 2010 // 3:38 pm - Today SCEA's Kirk Bender of Developer Support and Research Manager David Coombes have confirmed that Sony's PS3 Motion Controller will be shown at the 2010 Game Developers Conference in a presentation on March 11th.

PSP Firmware 6.0 Beta is Available for Developers 200°
August 30, 2009 // 2:15 pm - The PSP Go release date just around the corner, and it seems Sony is pretty determined to prevent the hacking community from tinkering with their brand new handheld by releasing various firmware updates.

French site PSPGen is reporting that Sony has already released a brand new Beta version of PSP Firmware 6.0 for official developers to test their games and adapt with the brand new firmware.

August 18, 2009 // 6:38 pm - There were no new motion control live demos from Sony during its keynote at GamesCom, but what we did get was a promise of lots of new information at the Tokyo Game Show later in the year.

Digital Developers Can Earn 10k GBP in Grants for PSN Content 50°
August 11, 2009 // 2:27 pm - Today GamesIndustry.biz (linked above) is reporting news that digital developers are being offered the opportunity to compete for grants of 10,000 GBP to create content for Sony's PlayStation Network.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will host a three-day pitching event in October, in conjunction with Pixel-Lab and Northwest Vision, with successful companies awarded the grant, executive production and mentoring with SCEE, as well as the chance to take the project further and pitch to XDev Studio Europe.
