Video: Introducing The Bright Lord for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Video: Introducing The Bright Lord for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor 50°
1w ago - Community Manager Andy Salisbury at Monolith Productions officially introduced the Bright Lord for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor on PS4 today.

To quote: In Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, players saw Celebrimbor's memories of being dragged back to Mordor, forging the Rings of Power, stealing the One Ring itself, and raising an army to battle his greatest Nemesis, the Dark Lord Sauron.

Now players will have the chance to play these epic events, wield this power for themselves and learn the fate of Celebrimbor, the greatest Elven king of the Second Age and the Bright Lord of Mordor - thousands of years before he became the Wraith that denied Talion death.

When introducing The Bright Lord for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, the opportunity to tell such a significant story from the history of Middle-earth isn't the sort of challenge we take lightly. With The Bright Lord, we didn't hold back.

Prepare for a new playable character in Celebrimbor (along with a Celebrimbor skin for all of your adventures), a new story campaign and missions culminating in an epic battle against the ultimate Nemesis, the Test of the Ring Challenge Mode, new powers for you to try out as you wield the One Ring, and Celebrimbor's...

Axiom Verge Out March 31st on PlayStation 4, New Powerup Details

Axiom Verge Out March 31st on PlayStation 4, New Powerup Details 200°
2w ago - Thomas Happ Games LLC Programmer / Artist / Designer / Composer Tom Happ announced today that Axiom Verge arrives this March 31st on PlayStation 4 with new powerup details below!

To quote: Hey everyone - this is Tom Happ, the sole developer of Axiom Verge. About a month ago, I was given the opportunity to come and describe the dedicated Speed Run mode feature of Axiom Verge. I was absolutely thrilled with everyone's response.

If you aren't familiar with Axiom Verge, please check out my initial post about the game. The tl;dr version is that you play as Trace, a scientist who wakes up after a lab accident in a hostile, alien world.

You need to uncover the mystery of how that world came to the state it's in and your role in it all. Similar to classic games like Super Metroid, Contra, Blaster Master and others, the gameplay incorporates a mix of exploration, hidden powerups, strange creatures to fight, and epic boss battles.

Let's talk powerups!

Powerups are the lifeblood of an exploration-based game. New abilities give...

New Sony PlayStation Games for the Week of February 24, 2015

New Sony PlayStation Games for the Week of February 24, 2015 700°
2w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new PlayStation and PSN game releases for the upcoming week today, as follows:

A new nightmare in the iconic horror series is about to begin. The episodic experience Resident Evil: Revelations 2 arrives this week on PS4 and PS3, unleashing four weeks of chilling stories. Ready your nightlights.

The first episode of Resident Evil: Revelations 2, titled Penal Colony, launches this week. Claire Redfield, one of the few survivors of the Raccoon City incident in 1998, has since joined a non-government organization named Terra Save, which works to help victims of biological weapons.

But during an event at Terra Save's headquarters, Claire and her co-workers are kidnapped by an unknown force and moved to a deserted island. A really scary one.

Prepare for the staple chills, gore, and intrigue that come with the Resident Evil series as Claire and Moira Burton struggle to survive in this new chapter of evil.

If that sounds a bit too scary, fear not: there are plenty more games coming to PlayStation this week, including the highly entertaining (and hilarious) Starwhal, which pits friends together in epic narwhal battles. In space. Oh yes, it's all too real.

For a full list of games coming to PlayStation,...

Video: MLB 15 The Show: Diamond Dynasty Distilled on PlayStation 4

Video: MLB 15 The Show: Diamond Dynasty Distilled on PlayStation 4 200°
2w ago - Sony Community Manager Ramone Russell at San Diego Studios posted up a video below today showcasing the diamond dynasty distilled in MLB 15 The Show on PlayStation 4.

To quote: Since its debut in MLB 12 The Show, the Diamond Dynasty mode has offered franchise fans a twist on how they can usually interact with their favorite MLB players in a baseball game.

Baseball cards are so intrinsically at the heart of the sport and its amazing history and tradition, so it always made sense to incorporate that way of appreciating baseball into The Show.

It's a nice complement to Franchise and Road to the Show modes, since the strategy of building your team (and that thrill of a rare player card!) is a wholly different experience from in-game action.

With MLB 15 The Show, Diamond Dynasty is seeing radical changes. So many in fact that this year we're calling it Diamond Dynasty Distilled. Why "Distilled?"

A common definition calls the process the extracting "the essential meaning or most important aspects of," which is precisely what we've aimed to do. It's more intuitive, it's easier to get into, and we hope you'll find it more satisfying than ever.

Check out this new video blog we've made, narrated by designer Lance Leahy, detailing some of the biggest changes:
