To those who may be looking forward to the movie, 'on hold' would definitely be better than 'canned' right? The Halo movie has long been talked about, and yet pertinent details about the movie have yet to be revealed.

Microsoft Responds to Inconsistent 'Games on Demand' Pricing 350°
August 11, 2009 // 10:28 pm - Microsoft's Games on Demand pricing isn't consistent across the globe. What costs $20 in one place costs $40 (or sometimes more) in another.

Kotaku asked Microsoft, why the discrepancy?

Their response is below, to quote:

"Microsoft HQ said the pricing decisions outside the US were the responsibility of that particular territory. So, for example, if Mass Effect is priced at 6000 Microsoft Points in Australia (as opposed to only 1600 MSP in the US), then that's Xbox Australia's decision."

When Xbox Australia was asked, they added the following:...

Microsoft Drops XBox 360's HD Requirements? 250°
August 7, 2009 // 8:24 pm - The fanfare surrounding the HD era has been dampened down by suggestions that Microsoft is no longer demanding an HD resolution of at least 1280x720 for games released on the Xbox 360.

To quote: In the latest issue of Develop, Black Rock Studio's David Jefferies provides an insight into the balancing act required for resolution and quality, claiming that although both HD consoles support 4X Multiscreen Anti-Aliasing, it's impossible to support such techniques at 1280x720 because the overhead is too much.

As a result, most developers have to drop down to 2xMSAA at...

Microsoft XBox 360 Live Advertisement Using LittleBigPlanet Tune 500°
August 6, 2009 // 1:56 pm - Many people have associated LittleBigPlanet with the song Get it Together by the Go! Team.

However, it seems Microsoft has decided to begin using this tune in a recent advertisement for their Xbox 360 too.

To quote: This is the LittleBigPlanet theme they're running over their suspiciously similar marketing campaign.

Now to be honest, this song is by The Go Team and was licensed by Sony for use in LittleBigPlanet. However, the song feels like it's been accepted as the spiritual soundtrack for LittleBigPlanet. And Microsoft have to be aware of that.
