OPM Hints That Uncharted 3 for PS3 is in Early Development 300°
278w ago - A few weeks ago Amy Hennig hinted that an Uncharted 3 PS3 game may be in the works.

Today the Official PlayStation Magazine (OPM) has added credence to her interview hinting that the game is indeed in the early stages of development.

To quote: In the latest Official PlayStation Magazine (December 2009, UK version), in the latest 'The Big 10' section, the guys over at OPM have asked Uncharted 2 Multiplayer designer Justin Richmond 'How do you top Uncharted 2?'. The answer, well it seems to all-but confirm that early work has begun on the sequel;

"Haha! More of it." he said "The guys back at the office are already starting to look at optimising the engine, getting more stuff on screen - all the stuff that we've done in this project that we could do better with."

Rumor: Sony Cambridge Job Posting Hints at MediEvil 3 for PS3? 100°
290w ago - Today GamesRaid (linked above) has uncovered a recent job posting for Sony Cambridge that seeks an Adobe Flash Animator.

Although the listing states simply 'an unannounced PS3 title' speculation has led to one series the studio is well known for, namely MediEvil 3 for PlayStation 3.

Perhaps they need the employee for an official Web site for this currently unannounced title? Time will tell...

To quote: A recent job listing for Sony Cambridge reveals how the studio requires an Adobe Flash Animator to 'apply [their] skills on an unannounced PS3 title'. Applicants are required 'to have top Flash design and Flash animation skills' for the contract job.

SCE Cambridge are currently working on LBP PSP as well as future revisions of Play TV, and now it seems they may also be working on a new PS3 title.

Speculation: Logo Hints at Killzone 3 for PS3 in Development? 100°
292w ago - Today TheSixthAxis.com (linked above) is reporting that they have received an e-mail from an unknown source who allegedly has included a Killzone 3 logo prototype.

Odds are high it's simply a PhotoShop job, however, there is always a chance that a marketer has selected TheSixthAxis to begin a promotional campaign leading up to an announcement at GamesCom or a similar upcoming event.

To quote: "It came from someone I've never had any contact with before, had no message in the email and no further explanation was offered. I'm just publishing it because I know you will all want to see it but I can't vouch for it and I am marking it (for obvious reasons) as a rumour. Make what you will of it.

We have contacted the person who sent us the image below and asked for more information which, if we get it, we will keep you informed of."

So, that being said.. if anyone has time to do some detective work on the picture feel free to comment below.

Toshiba Blu-ray Support Hints of an XBox 360 Add-On Coming?

Toshiba Blu-ray Support Hints of an XBox 360 Add-On Coming? 250°
293w ago - After Toshiba Corp., the developer of the HD DVD format, releases its Blu-ray disc player by the end of the year, Microsoft Corp. will have to follow and launch Blu-ray add-on for its Xbox 360 game console.

The support of Blu-ray disc (BD) by Toshiba means that the format is finally becoming a de-facto standard for high-definition home video. Toshiba is the last major consumer electronics maker to support BD.

To quote: Microsoft has publicly stated that high-definition video downloads and streaming is the future of video delivering to homes. However, it also had HD DVD add-on for Xbox 360, hence, the company admits that physical media is still popular.

Moreover, with all the consumer electronics making BD players, Microsoft also needs to provide such an option to its consumer electronics video-game platform: it is clear that there will be much higher demand towards Blu-ray hardware in the coming years.

Windows 7 operating systems supports burning of Blu-ray discs and recognizes their file structure. In a recent TV advertisement Microsoft even said that Blu-ray support is one of the advantages that certain Windows-based computers have over Apple Macintosh systems.

The main reason why Microsoft is unenthusiastic regarding Blu-ray is mandatory support of BD-Java interactive...

Survey Hints at Netflix Coming to Sony's PlayStation 3 Console?

Survey Hints at Netflix Coming to Sony's PlayStation 3 Console? 250°
296w ago - A new Netflix survey is making the rounds on the Internet; this time it features questions on PS3 support.

Will Netflix be making its way to Sony's PlayStation 3 console after all?

To quote: A survey from Netflix hints at the potential future of the Netflix service, including PlayStation 3 support.

With the one-year anniversary of Netflix's appearance on the XBOX 360 approaching, it's entirely possible that the movie and TV rental service is looking to branch out into other platforms to ensure total domination of gamers' living rooms.

However, there is one interesting bit of information in this survey; unlike the 360's built-in Netflix streaming, though, this potential PS3 streaming requires a Netflix Instant Streaming Disc to work.

This would insinuate that Netflix support would not be built directly into the PS3's firmware like it is on 360, but rather supported through an outside application.

Considering the fact that the PS3 supported Hulu until just a week ago, however, it's always possible that this could change.
