Lighter, more efficient PS3s on the way! 50°
April 25, 2008 // 4:10 pm - Those rumors of a Slim and Lite PS3 may still be unfounded, but lighter and more efficient PS3s are in the making - thanks to "third generation" heat sinks.

Japanese company Furukawa Electric Co recently showcased a new heat sink for the PS3, said to be far lighter, smaller and cheaper than the previous two "generations" of PS3 heat sink.

We won't bore you with specifics because, by and large, heat sinks are about as exciting as snail races. But the graphics chip and CPU in the so-called "third generation" consoles will be cooled by smaller, separate heat sinks, rather...

No More Heroes Ships Early 100°
January 4, 2008 // 11:08 pm - Publisher Ubisoft previously had its potential cult-hit action game, No More Heroes, set for a February release, right up against a little fighter called Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Not the best decision, but thankfully the company seems to have reconsidered and fans of offerings like Killer 7 are the benefactors of the decision.

Ubisoft confirmed to IGN Wii this afternoon that No More Heroes has officially been moved up for a January 22 release date -- less than three weeks from now, if you're counting.

In No More Heroes, you play as Travis Touchdown, a man on a quest...

Morello officially Parade-s GHIII 50°
September 8, 2007 // 4:13 pm - Earlier this week, Rage Against the Machine fretter and renegade of funk Tom Morello told Rolling Stone that he would be joining Guns N' Roses' Slash and Poison's Bret Michaels as a boss in Activision and RedOctane's Guitar Hero III. All well and good, but Morello's inclusion presented the obvious query of which Rage song would get worked into the Neversoft-developed rhythm game.

Today, Activision officially announced Morello's inclusion in GHIII, and also revealed that gamers can expect to engage Morello in rhythmic fisticuffs to the tune of "Bulls on Parade." Ranked as the 15th...

Morello a villain in Guitar Hero III 50°
September 4, 2007 // 9:18 pm - In addition to a heavy reliance on master recording tracks, Activision and RedOctane have signed on a number of big-name rockers to appear as bosses in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. One of the major announcements coming out of the GHIII camp during this year's E3 Media and Business Summit was that Guns N' Roses thrasher Slash would be doling out his special brand of rock for the rhythm game. Earlier this month, Poison frontman Bret Michaels was named as the second legend of rock to take the stage.

The third epic rocker to lend his signature twang in person to Guitar Hero III will...
