Microsoft unveils its Web vision 50°
April 24, 2008 // 12:20 am - Microsoft has lifted the lid on a new Web service called Live Mesh, designed to connect a multiplicity of devices and applications online. The service is seen by many as a key plank in the company's vision for the future of the Web.

Live Mesh is designed to blur the lines between running software and storing data on a desktop and "in the cloud". Microsoft's Amit Mital said Live Mesh would "connect and bring devices together... to work in concert".

Live Mesh pits Microsoft against companies like Amazon, Google and Salesforce.com which are already offering different varieties...

Amazon Dates Metal Gear Online For November 250°
April 9, 2008 // 10:00 pm - Online retailer Amazon.com is now taking pre-orders for Metal Gear Online, the upcoming multiplayer-focused spin-off of Hideo Kojima's legendary Metal Gear series.

A price of $59.99 and a release date of November 15, 2008 is scheduled. They have also posted what we assume is the Official box art, displayed below.

Finally, Konami announced last February that gamers who pre-order Metal Gear Solid 4 in the U.S. at any GameStop or EBGames will receive free access to the Metal Gear Online beta test, which is set to launch in late April.

Amazon Gives Away $50 To Early HD-DVD Adopters 200°
April 9, 2008 // 9:54 pm - Amazon.com is offering customers who purchased an HD-DVD player from them before February 23, 2008, a credit good for $50 off any products that expires in one year.

Purchases from third-party merchants on Amazon are not eligible.

FFXIII and FFXIII Versus Date & Pricing at Amazon 50°
February 2, 2008 // 7:20 pm - In Amazon it's listed the price and release date for Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII Versus for the PS3 system.

Both can be found in here.

The price is the explosive $59.99 each, unbeatable for the actual prices for the PS3 games.

The Cover art is also unveiled, with a typical FF presentation layout, but also is noticeable that the FFXIII cover has a black back, and the XIII Versus a White one instead.

Amazon Kindle sells out on debut 50°
November 23, 2007 // 4:05 am - Amazon's Kindle e-book reader has sold out despite scepticism about whether the device will prove popular.

A notice on the Kindle pages on the Amazon web store said "heavy customer demand" for the device meant it would be out of stock until 3 December.

Since its launch on 19 November the device has been widely examined but opinions about it are mixed.

It has won praise for being easy to use but many have criticised the way it forces people to pay for free content.

Amazon debuts digital book reader 50°
November 21, 2007 // 5:39 pm - Online retailer Amazon has unveiled an own-brand wireless electronic book reader called Kindle.

The paperback-sized device is on sale immediately in the US for $399 (£195). It can store up to 200 books in its onboard memory.

Kindle does not need a PC to be loaded with books, blogs or papers - instead content arrives via wireless.

Amazon said 90,000 books, including bestsellers priced at $9.99, were available for Kindle at launch.

New addition: "We've been working on Kindle for more than three years," said Amazon boss Jeff Bezos in a statement.
