To enable the test switch/button, map it to any PSP button via the 'Control' tab – it's unmapped by default. With regard to save state feature, I ask that you take its functionality with a grain of salt – at least until more folks report how well it works.

Codemasters announce FUEL: largest environment in race gaming

100°
341w ago - Codemasters has today officially announced FUEL. Set to revolutionise multi-terrain racing with the largest environment ever created in race gaming, FUEL will present players with an astonishing no-boundaries playfield that's over 5,000 square miles (14,000+ kmē) in size.

Creating the ultimate competitive go-anywhere racing experience, FUEL will have players competing across wildly different terrain and executing spectacular death-defying stunts as they race dozens of varied two and four-wheeled rides and explore this epic world on an unprecedented scale.

FUEL is set in an alternate present in which whole swathes of the globe have been ravaged by the effects of climate change brought on by decades of environmental abuse. Here oil prices have rocketed and yet a new breed of racing junkie takes to the wastelands, pitting their grungy home-tuned vehicles against each other in an all-new extreme sport as they compete to win fuel supplies.

To triumph means travelling the wastelands to challenge the best; from the tsunami-wrecked pacific coast through the Nevada wastelands, including the Grand Canyon, up treacherous snow-capped mountains, thick forests, arid deserts, abandoned lakeside resorts and much more.

Bringing this vast, open ended...

Keep in mind that this is the initial release. As such, the author notes that users might experience graphical and audio glitches with a select few ROMs.

Known issues:

Big Bang Pro Wrestling
- Graphics problem at the character select screen.

Crush Roller
- Crush Roller appears to have some glitching in the "Collection" screen choosable from the game's main menu. The randomized things the creatures (that you've captured while playing the game) say are glitched sometimes in the collection screen; with odd solid blocks or discolored flipped/glitched text appearing in the speech bubble.

Delta Warp
- The 'R' in "RECORD" and the 'C' in "CLEAR" get cut off

Dive Alert
- Corrupted graphics on the intro as the characters scroll past Evangelion style.
- Glitches corrupt the intro scroll text.

Ganbare Neo Poke Kun
- When you win a Mini-Game in ganbare, there is a "3D" message "Congratulations"...

India enters supercomputing race

50°
381w ago - A computer system designed in India has made it into a top ten of the world's fastest supercomputers.

Computer giant IBM continues to dominate the list - which is compiled twice a year - with a total of 232 out of the top 500 supercomputers.

Its Blue Gene/L supercomputer - used to ensure the US nuclear weapons stockpile remains safe and reliable - comes out at number one.

The Indian system - known as EKA - made it into fourth place.

The world's fastest supercomputer - BlueGene/L - has been significantly upgraded in the last six months.

It can now deliver a sustained performance of 478 trillion calculations per second (478 teraflops), nearly three times faster than any other machine on the list.

Petaflop barrier

Second place went to another IBM system - a newer version of BlueGene/L known as BlueGene/P. The system, introduced this June is the first in a batch of IBM machines designed to operate at a petaflop and beyond.

Breaking the petaflop barrier - the ability to process 1,000 trillion calculations every second - has long been a key milestone in supercomputing and would allow highly detailed simulations.

For example in earthquake simulations it could show building-by-building movements of regions in earthquake zones,...
