131w ago - Lockwood Publishing Director Sophia Coney has posted up a video today which showcases Mercia: Fractured Realms providing an in-depth look at PlayStation Home's first free-to-play Fantasy RPG.

To quote: Mercia: Fractured Realms is a beautifully detailed and expansive free-to-play fantasy RPG for PlayStation Home.

Making a number of huge technical leaps forward, Mercia: Fractured Realms offers you an experience unlike anything you'vecome across on the platform before. It's the closest PlayStation Home has come to a full retail title running within its engine, and it's available now.

Offering a compelling, unique story and universe to explore, with beautifully realized environments and awesome combat with various characters, weapons, magic and enemies. Mercia: Fractured Realms is a truly immersive experience.

We are very pleased to have been able to develop something in the fantasy genre with this project. It's no secret that there is already a surplus of fantasy games available; despite this, we believe we have achieved something truly fresh and original.

With the visual design alone, you can see this isn't your typical kind of fantasy clothing and armour - drawing inspiration from various world cultures and ancient civilisations ensured the end result would...

Video: Anomaly: Warzone Earth for PS3 Out This Week on PSN 50°
131w ago - Eleven Bit Studios Senior Writer Pawel Miechowski has announced today alongside a video that Anomaly: Warzone Earth for PS3 is out this week on PSN!

To quote: Hello everyone, Pawel Miechowski here from 11 bit studios.

I'm really happy to announce that our original mixture of strategy and action Anomaly Warzone Earth launched yesterday on PlayStation Network.

As I explained last month, Anomaly is essentially the first ever Tower Offense game. Instead of defending towers, you create troops and send them on missions to destroy extraterrestrial machines.

As the war rages around you, you can plan and re-plan your strategy via a Tactical View and adjust your plans to suit your current predicament.

And to make things more frantic, you play as the Commander, who's supporting troops in battle with various Special Abilities, such as Repair for healing units or Decoy for distracting enemy towers. If you want to buy new units or upgrade them, you have in-game cash to do so. Funds can be earned either by destroying enemies or mining resources like in any classic RTS.

Briefly, that's Anomaly: Warzone...

Video: Dragon Fantasy Book II Coming to PS3 and PS Vita Next Year 250°
131w ago - Muteki Corporation President, CEO and Founder Bryan Sawler has confirmed today that classic RPG love in the form of Dragon Fantasy Book II is coming PS3 and PS Vita next year.

To quote: Building the first Dragon Fantasy was an amazing experience. And after pouring your heart and soul into a project like that, you can only think "Where do I go from here?".

After we'd really pushed the limits of 8-bit gameplay and graphics with the first game, we knew it was time to bump the game a "generation". This meant being a lot more ambitious with what we wanted to do, and bigger ambitions require bigger support.

So with the support of SCEA's Pub Fund, we're thrilled to announce Dragon Fantasy Book II is headed for PS3 and PS Vita next year on PSN!

Originally, we had planned to follow the original three chapters of 8-bit style with another three chapters in a more 16-bit style. We planned to do a slow and steady progression, chapter by chapter adding more and more features.

But as soon as we started work on the new chapters we quickly found ourselves aiming squarely at the end of that generation immediately. We didn't want to start out simple again as we had already done that. We wanted to make the best RPG...
