Report: Online Gaming Up 22 Percent as Console Revenue Drops 50°
July 13, 2009 // 6:19 am - ComScore's data by itself suggests that gamers are seeking cheap, if not free, online games in greater numbers. Compared to other metrics, does it mean movement away from consoles?

Konami to Ditch Online IDs Starting with PES 2010 250°

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to Get Online Subscriptions? 100°
June 18, 2009 // 10:30 pm - Update: Infinity Ward has now responded to the rumor, as follows:

Speaking through its official forum, the developer told fans that in Modern Warfare 2 "multiplayer will always be equal and free for everyone as always."

Future Call of Duty games could come with an MMO-style subscription service, granting subscribers extra options and early access to map packs.

Metal Gear Online Gets Shadow Moses Map and New Content 300°
June 17, 2009 // 10:32 pm - As if the recent Bikini DLC Pack wasn't enough for Metal Gear Online fans, today Konami has announced a new map, character and reward mode.

The famed map "Icebound Inferno" is coming to the game, and is most well-known for being the "Shadow Moses" map from the first Metal Gear Solid game.

The map features an Arctic Island that consists of a large snowfield with buildings of varying heights, and is best suited for medium to long-range combat.

Metal Gear Online Gets Anniversary Bikini DLC Pack 200°
June 16, 2009 // 12:51 am - In celebration of the the one-year anniversary of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots' release Konami has made available a Metal Gear Online Bikini DLC Pack.

Rather than draw from the series' pool of female characters, the pack lets players roll their own originals, complete with sultry -even scandalous- "taunts."

The DLC is free for players who already have the GENE expansion pack purchased and installed.
