New Call Of Duty: World At War Demo Feels Like Old Call Of Duty

250°
329w ago - After hearing that the Call of Duty: World at War demo- I mean BETA, was available for any Xbox Gold subscriber, I decided to download it.

After playing for about two hours, I've come to one conclusion, and one of my good friends put it best: "World at War is totally a World War II mod for CoD4," and she's entirely right.

That's not to say that being exactly the same is a bad thing, far from it. Call of Duty 4 was an incredible game, with a large online community, and I fully expect World at War to follow closely in its footsteps. Of course, the only experience I have with the game is the multiplayer, which is pretty easy to duplicate.

The real question is going to be if Treyarch can manage to actually make the campaign interesting; everybody's getting tired of World War II. Regardless of how the actual campaign plays out, I know that tons of people are going to migrate over from CoD4 for no reason other than they're starting to get tired of the same maps and same weapons.

This begs the question "what happens to the people who still want to play CoD4?" Is Infinity Ward going to release new maps, or is Activision making them move onto their new game?

Call of Duty: World at War will release on November 11th for Microsoft's Xbox 360, Sony's Playstation 2 and 3, Nintendo's...

Hidden Message in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare?

100°
334w ago - When you go to the multiplayer screen where it would say PSN/Xbox live, Split Screen, System link, Options, Single player and then at the bottom "Game experience may change during online play."

Above that sentence there is a what looks like another sentence that has been rubbed out or something.

A few people who I have shown it to have had the game since day 1, but never noticed it was there.

Here is a picture of the menu for the PC its not very clear, but you get the idea.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Call Of Duty: World at War BETA to be XBox 360 and PC only

300°
335w ago - Sorry PS3 gamers, but according to Treyarch and the people at Activision, the upcoming online multiplayer BETA for Call of Duty: World at War will be for XBox 360 and PC owners only.

For those of you who remember, Infinity Ward pulled a similar move last year by hosting the Call of Duty 4 BETA only on the XBox 360. After speaking with a Activision representative, I was told that the reasoning behind doing an XBox 360 and PC BETA was primarily due to increased server and connectivity data.

"We are running the BETA only on the XBox 360 and PC," said the representative. He continued then to point out that most BETAs on the PS3 are run by first party anyways, and if Treyarch runs their testing on the XBox 360 and PC they acquire more data on servers and connectivity.

Personally, I think that it's imperative to sufficiently test all networks a game will be running on, and that includes the PlayStation Network. Yes, if you were to run the BETA solely on the PlayStation 3, you'd acquire less data than a 360 BETA, but why not have a BETA span multiple platforms? Is it that much more work?

What do you think about this debacle? Let us know in the comments section below.
