Apotheon Coming to PlayStation 4 February 3rd, Free for PS Plus

1000°
4w ago - Alientrap's Lee Vermeulen announced today that Apotheon is coming to PlayStation 4 on February 3rd, and will be free for PS Plus subscribers!

Below are the details, to quote: So in our last post we said that Apotheon would be launching sometime in January. Turns out we were off by a few days. Apotheon will actually be launching on February 3rd, 2015. But, we've got a really good excuse!

The reason for the short delay is because Apotheon will also be featured as part of Playstation Plus, and will be free for the month of February to all Playstation Plus subscribers for PS4! Check out our new launch trailer showing off a bit of our voice acting talent.

While sorting out all the paperwork involved with this deal, we've had a bit of extra time to do even more optimizations and playtesting to polish off the last few bugs. With the help of Sickhead Games doing the PS4 version, we're very happy with how the game has shaped up, and are very excited to finally release it to the world!

Back when we first started development in 2012, our original aspirations were much different. Apotheon actually started life as a sci-fi open world game where the player could sneak around a giant space station and cause trouble...

Sony Unveils PlayStation Plus: February 2015 Free PSN Games

1000°
4w ago - Sony Senior Community Specialist Kristine Steimer unveiled the upcoming PlayStation Plus free PSN games for February, 2015 today!

To quote: This is a pretty awesome month for PlayStation Plus members with a variety of quality titles across PlayStation platforms entering the service.

On PlayStation 4 you'll receive one of the coolest games from last year - the critically acclaimed strategy/action RPG Transistor. PS4 owners will also get Apotheon, an action platformer set in Greek mythology, the day it releases on PlayStation Store.

PlayStation 3 owners can explore the ins and outs of Tokyo with Yakuza 4 or sneak about The City stealing what you can in Thief.

PlayStation Vita owners can see how many generations of champions it takes to beat the quirky Rogue Legacy and jump around as a little boy with a big gun (not so much for shooting enemies as it is launching you around) in Kick & Fennick, which is also releasing day and date in PlayStation Plus.

All of these games will be free for Plus members starting February 3rd. If you want to see these titles in action, check out the video below. When you watch, you may notice that the voice over has changed a bit, and my friend Ryan Clements is narrating instead of me.

He'll be handling the Plus communications...

Fat Princess: Piece of Cake Available for Free Download Today

100°
7w ago - Sony Community Strategist Aaron Kaufman at Santa Monica Studio announced that Fat Princess: Piece of Cake is available for free download beginning today on PS Vita, iOS and Android.

To quote: Rescue the Princess! Fat Princess: Piece of Cake brings the beloved comic medieval battle royale to PlayStation Vita, iOS, and Android today with a brand-new strategic match-three game, and it's a free download!

With over 55 levels across five unique lands inspired by the universe of Fat Princess, you'll charge into battle with four different character classes and attempt to smash through the Blue army (because the Red army was always better).

While the gameplay is simple and fast to pick-up, you'll need to strategically upgrade your characters - the knights attack single enemies for high damage, a ranger whose gun can blast enemies in the front row, the demolition specialist with bombs to stun all enemies, and a quirky wizard with a staff to rival Gandalf's to heal your troops.

While the layers of gameplay strategy go far deeper,...
