Sony PS4 Dev Kit FCC Filing: Extra Ports, 2.75GHz Max Clock Speed

Sony PS4 Dev Kit FCC Filing: Extra Ports, 2.75GHz Max Clock Speed 550°
85w ago - Sony's PS4 development kit FCC filing shows off extra ports alongside a 2.75GHz max clock speed with details below.

To quote from Engadget (linked above): "Sony proudly showed off its PlayStation 4 hardware for the first time at E3, and now we're getting a peek at what developers are working with this generation thanks to the FCC.

The DUH-D1000AA prototype Development Kit for PS4 is listed in these documents, tested for its Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi radios. As one would expect, the diagrams show it eschews the sleek design of the consumer model for extra cooling, a shape made for rack mounts plus extra indicator lights and ports.

Also of note is a "max clock speed" listing of 2.75GHz, and although we don't know how fast the game system will run by default, it's interesting to hear what that 8-core AMD Jaguar silicon may be capable of while maintaining a temperature between 5 and 35 degrees celsius.

Hit the link above to check out the documents for yourself, after seeing this and the system's controller become a part of the FCC's database all we're left waiting for is Mark...

Lone Survivor: Director's Cut: Six Months of Extra Content Coming

Lone Survivor: Director's Cut: Six Months of Extra Content Coming 50°
90w ago - Curve Digital CEO Jason Perkins has announced the Lone Survivor: Director's Cut is coming with six months of extra content!

Below are the details, to quote: Since Lone Survivor game developer Japser Byrne announced the Playstation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of the game in March, both he and the team here at Curve have been working flat out to deliver one of the most unique horror games you're ever likely to play.

Jasper will be joining Curve developers Sam and Hamish at the Sony area at E3, where he'll be showing off the very latest developments on the PlayStation version of the game, answering questions and revealing more information about the game, which is due to be released this summer. We are very excited to be demonstrating the very first playable build of the game at E3.

The original Lone Survivor was released last year on the PC and was well received by critics, scoring 81% on Metacritic, nominated for a Golden Joystick as well as other awards and official selections, and picked up by many sites as Horror Game of the Year. The soundtrack was also consistently praised.

For us at Curve, one of the best things about working on a game like Lone Survivor is that we get to take a game that people really enjoyed and use it as an opportunity for the creator to add even...

BreakQuest: Extra Evolution Exclusively on PlayStation Minis Today

BreakQuest: Extra Evolution Exclusively on PlayStation Minis Today 50°
124w ago - Beatshapers Founder and CEO Alexey Menshikov has announced that beginning today BreakQuest: Extra Evolution is exclusively breaking and questing on PlayStation Minis for fans.

To quote: It's Alexey Menshikov from Beatshapers and I'm pleased to reveal our next game - BreakQuest: Extra Evolution is coming to North American PlayStation Stores today as a PlayStation Minis exclusive (PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation Portable), priced at $3.99.

This game has a long story: the original game was released back in 2004 on PC by Spain-based Felix Casablancas and Nurium Games, and was the best breakout-style game at its time featuring something very unique for the genre - fully interactive physics.

We were one of the biggest fans of the game and when Sony approached with introduction of PlayStation Minis; we decided to bring this game to minis in 2010, which was quite successful.

A year after the PSP minis release, we thought about its sequel with the twist - at that time we had a feedback from the PSP version players, so we decided to improve the gameplay and design: we took best game and design elements of original game and rebuild it from scratch, incorporating our vision and our inspiration from the original BreakQuest.

As a result, we have created...

Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's Set, Extra PS3 Content

Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's Set, Extra PS3 Content 300°
128w ago - Capcom Product Manager Andrew Schnorr has announced today that the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's will include tons of extra content on PS3!

Below are the details, to quote: Back on August 30, 1987, Capcom released Street Fighter in arcades, which seemed relatively innocuous until you gave it a second look.

The graphics were average for the time, the voice acting was quite muffled, and the controls were strict and unforgiving. You could normally only choose a single character - a redheaded, red-shoed martial artist named Ryu - unless a second player came on, in which case they could play a blonde clone named Ken.

Most people who play it would agree that it's not the best game in the series, but there were people who saw its potential, and decided to continue the franchise with Street Fighter II. With that, one of the video games' biggest icons stepped into the spotlight.

Over the past 25 years, Street Fighter has worked itself up from humble beginnings in the arcade to being a cultural phenomenon throughout the world. Millions of people interact with it every day, in a myriad of ways.

In all truth, the fans define the franchise as much as the games. And it was these people who inspired the creation of the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's...

Sony Announces Ghostlight to Release Fate / Extra for PSP

Sony Announces Ghostlight to Release Fate / Extra for PSP 100°
149w ago - Today Community Manager Ross Brierley at Ghostlight has announced that they will be releasing Fate / Extra for Sony's PlayStation Portable handheld video game console with details below.

To quote: Today I'm here to talk to you about Ghostlight's latest JRPG release, Fate/EXTRA.

Developed by Imagepooch and TYPE-MOON, Fate/EXTRA is an epic PSP title set in a parallel universe to that of the hugely popular Japanese visual novel Fate/Stay Night.

At first glance, Fate/EXTRA appears to be set inside a Japanese high school. However, it soon becomes clear that something far stranger is at work, as the school itself is in fact an elaborate computer simulation designed as a battleground in the fight for the Holy Grail, a powerful artefact which will grant the victor's desire.

The students themselves are either mages seeking the grail, or merely NPCs created to ensure the smooth running of the tournament.

Summoning legendary heroes from the depths of the past (called 'Servants') to battle alongside them, the mages must battle each other to be the one to claim the Grail. But the stakes are high and only death awaits those who fall in battle.

Fate/EXTRA also features a truly original battle system, which, despite being simple to learn, has real depth...
